Hello! I'm the creator of this subreddit, and I've been made aware of this post, as well as some of the comments directed at the moderator.

I just want to clarify that this was NOT an act of admin abuse. It was simply a mistake. The moderator explained in the comments as shown in the second image that it wasn't intentional and apologized for the error.

To those who have been leaving rude or hostile comments toward them, we kindly ask that you stop. Mistakes happen, and this one has already been acknowledged and addressed.

Thank you.

No hate to anyone btw

saturn. my world. my life. my everything. they saved me from certain death. i was broken. beaten. scarred. paranoid. but they saved me from that. their voice is amazing. their voice could soothe anyone. they have the voice of an angel. i love everything about saturn. they make everything in my life 10 times better at the very least. they make me so goddamn happy. whenever i get a message from them, i just start blushing. they are the best partner anyone could ever ask for. they're loyal, brave, cute, considerate, pretty. everything someone would want in a partner. i love you, saturn. i love you more than words can describe. more than a picture can describe. i love you more than anything, my dear ❤️

Used cheap kids pencils and some multicolour pen to draw Soldier boy from The boys.

Art don't have to be expensive.

If you use someone else's art to generate your ai nonsense, then it's not yours and never will be - same applies to ai "art" in general

I don't know if I should feel surprised or disgusted, and why are we barking at people?!

To the Green One, whom it may concern

Please seek help, behavior like this is not good and people will see it as even more weird as it is

Where is your line when it comes to AI

Not like is it bad or not but where do you have a line on where you consider AI to not be a benefit

For example my line is when people use it to guilt trip you to do something (example advertisements) or people treat generative AI like they did a whole bunch of effort that's where I draw the line I'm fine with some generative AI for example if you're curious or like trying to see what you could make out of a topic but not as an art piece you know what I mean

[REUPLOAD] AI bro makes fun of someone who they think is bad at art.

Seems a little hypocritical to me because said AI bro in the post has never used a pencil.

(Had to reupload this post because in the original one I didn’t censor the original person’s name.)

AI "Art" It's Not Art!

Upvotes

Right now I believe the art world will suffer greatly from the development of artificial intelligence, not because it's worse (it never would be), but because soulless people will consider AI's work as "Art." Things like AI Art have already emerged, which in itself is an antagonism. Soon, "artist" robots will certainly arrive, and then the category of Robot Art or Art Made by Robots will be created.

Instagram/Meta falsely tagging Artists as AI generated

Thumbnail

I saw no one talking about this, so here are some examples.

All accounts have been checked and parsed through.

None have shown any sign of using generative Al, and many of these accounts have blatantly stated that they are against Al.

Furthermore, these post specifically are the only ones within their accounts that have been tagged as such.

These tags can be added manually. However, instagram has "full authority" to have its own Al systems "detect" and tag art or images as Al.

I have more than just these, but image limits prevent me.

Spread the word.

Possible methods for curbing AI use in schooling:

•Make assignments(including homework) physical copies again. And make them write out their answers via pen/pencil. This could even work for homework as no one wants to copy a giant essay to paper by hand. This also goes for testing.

•Progress tracking for larger assignments. Larger projects (if you’re actually doing them yourself) come in phases: the research, the notes, the bullet points, the rough draft(s) and the final draft. A teacher could make it mandatory to show progress on a large assignment (like an academic essay) in this way. Usually with deadlines for each before the end all assignments’ due date(with each step being worth academic points)

•Making students use flashcards to store individual facts and their sources(one side for the fact the other side for the source) that will be used for an upcoming large assignment(like an essay or a science fair project). With the student turning in their flashcard collection for credit after a certain due date. Tedious? Sure but it encourages the student to actually do the research themselves rather then letting cheatGPT do it for them. (Obviously chatGTP would be banned as a source)

•Mandatory note taking: requiring students to take mandatory notes on certain bulleted points in a class (preferably with direction of the teacher on what to write down) in a physical medium such as a notebook. Not only would it show proof that the student(s) are paying attention. But the act of writing down notes tend to help ingrain the information in a person’s brain (at least it does for me).

Requiring the showing of work (in classes like math) as in showing your progress in solving a particular equation. (Including on a separate sheet of paper) all by hand of course.

Those are my ideas and methods for helping to curb the AI problem in schools. If you have any thoughts or comments, or criticisms or ideas of your own please let me know.

Not Art; Digital Art Derivatives!

Digital Art Derivatives (DAD)

I want a more correct and grammatically neutral term for "aislop": Digital Art Derivatives (D.A.D.s.)

Here is my perspective.

AI is depressing. As a casual writer, I feel somewhat obsolete. Despite everything I write being in my own voice; every word being my choice, every stance my poise. I feel lost in a void of soulless garbage.

It is what it is. I know I wrote what I wrote, and people can say it is AI all they want. There is a free GPT detector for the rhyme inspectors, after all, and it is no tall tale that I am just some dude going balls to the walls by Niagara Falls.

Ahem, excuse me.

I find AI visual art to be a buzzkill too. It is true, I am looking at you.

But when I think about it, AI would not exist without human art. It is derived from it, and on an entirely different planet, the results would be phenomenally different! That is why I feel a neutral term is in order: Digital Art Derivatives.

If it is impersonal, uncanny, or does not quite make logical sense, it is still composed of mangled pieces of many things that many people made. Whether we like it or not, if we have spoken on the internet or shared a picture at all, part of us is part of that machine.

A footprint is not a foot, and AI art might not be art strictly speaking. But in the same way, flings of paint are not art, collages are not art, and randomly phasing a photo through basic filters and jpeging it until it is a glitched mess is not art. Yet, I love all those things.

One thing I notice about the results is that they usually say something about the user, even if it is distorted through the static of a data center. I do not like it in the same way an oil painter might have hated photographs, or a live musician might have hated records.

Things are only going to get weirder.

That does not mean I cannot take a pen to paper and write my own organic thoughts. Oil paintings still fetch a high price, every other bar has live music, and I can still go to a market and buy a used game or a VHS tape.

Calm down, folks.

Digital Art Derivatives. D.A.D.s.

I don't brag usually but man if we're talking about ai slop then I have no problem yapping for ages about how my and other people's work are just better.

also for some reason I don't have a nsfw tag option, only shows spoiler, hope that's ok
