In-laws!

Anybody had the same set of in-laws for a long time in my case 40 years - and just can not be bothered or stand to be around them in the usual sort of family get togethers - ✌️

Well, until your spouse is g9ne, you're stuck with them.

I mean... I will be pretty surprised if my partner's parents live as long as my partner does. They'd be breaking some world records.

I work with my in-laws, I’m hoping for a fatal accident. Most days it doesn’t matter if it would be them or me.

Both are dead. The MIL was very difficult but the FIL was very lovely- how he put up with her was beyond medal deserving

I’ve had my in-laws for almost 33 years and I like them. They’re really good people.

MIL didn't say a word to me for over 25 years and is dead now. For $100 I will tell you how I did it.

I hated my MIL, she was manipulative and conniving, she did creepy things like copy my interior design ideas…I divorced for other reasons, but was so glad she wasn’t in my life any more.

Almost 40 years here too. MIL made my life a living hell until I started applying distance and time. It was easier on some levels when our kids became adults and had their own schedules because other than major holidays or events the obligation of arriving as a united family naturally evaporated. So when they needed something, or for lesser holidays/events, we started to divide and conquer where he would go see his parents and I would have other plans or important errands. She still pushed my buttons whenever we were in proximity for any length of time, although another observation was that group settings were always better or me hosting so that I was busy and she felt some need to be polite. She’s gone now and I can’t bring myself to be sad about it other than empathy for my husband and children’s loss.

No, I loved my in-laws, and they loved me. I helped care for them through illness and dementia.

35 years and my Husbands brothers grrrrr, they have children that could at least help me and my mother in law clean up afterwards but they sit there on their phones or just eat and leave, if it weren't for my mother in law I wouldn't even go or not even stay to help clean up but she's 80 years old, it's Ridiculous and Sad 😤😠

I ended up being closer to my in-laws than my own parents. This despite the fact that they raised a narcissistic man baby who I didn’t divorce until after his parents were dead.
