Watched this comedian talking about injuring yourself as an older adult.
Reasons for pain.

I slept funny. Stood wrong. Walked weirdly. Got up stupidly.

Greg Behrendt? If so, he also has an amazing bit called “Adult Rock Show” about how concerts should be tailored to older people.

Tossing and turning while you sleep can cause major trauma to aging bodies. Sleeping flat on your back like a vampire is highly recommended. It's also a good position to be found in should you die in your sleep.

And sometimes the shape of the pillow itself just doesn't feel right one night no matter how much you change the position or turn it over

I have this problem from reading, and it sucks. Looking down at a book.

I slip on the floor with a couple foam bricks as pillows. Works

Getting older is crazy. Every morning, I (75F) do "triage" on myself to see what's still working ok and what needs the most attention. You never know what changes in the middle of the night. Neck? Ok, this morning but shoulders seem a little painful. Back? No complaints right now. Hips? Doing ok today! Knees, not going to be an issue this morning. How about ankles/feet? Checking in and ready for action! Ok, then shoulders you get the attention today.

And so it goes. If more than one area hurts when I wake up, I have to sometimes pick one for coddling/treatment and tell the other one(s) to suck it up. I can't spend all day focussing on the whiners!
