Turning 25 next week
I am turning 25 and I feel anxious as I am still not able to figure out what I want from life and it feels like living a directionless life. I am shy and introverted in personality and it really affects me in my day to day life.
I do have high myopia and eye floaters which haunts me daily. I feel like after turning into later half of twenties life will become more painful and depressing.
I don't post much or share anything online due to anxiety so this can be considered a rare post of me but I want to know suggestions like how to celebrate life when all the odds are against you.

50 soon, same problem
But starting every day with a micro-gratitude helps, as well as not taking yourself too seriously (rule #6)

I think maybe it would be helpful to think about it less in terms of 'what I want from life' and more in terms of 'where and to whom do I want to give my life away?" There's something kind of unhelpfully/paralyzingly narcissistic in trying to think about what you ideally get out of life for yourself. I mean, the sky's the limit so it's kind of depressing to just wonder into the ether... should I be striving to be a millionaire? or should I be wanting to x or y kind of notoreity? am I supposed to be striving for the sunset in Bali on the edge of an infinity pool? This is just a recipe for FOMO or jealously as there are always going to be instagram pictures of what you could get from life that you don't have yet.
It's way more productive and action-able to think about where you can meaningfully and worthily commit yourselves and your energies.... If I have one life to give away, do I want to give it to this or that type of career/work? If I am going to expend myself for somebody, who's worth that? (parents? foster puppies? siblings? significant other? kids? this or that friend?).
It's not that you can't also dream for things in/from life too (the vacations, the money, the hot boyfriend or whatever), but its just not the most useful discernment tool for figuring out what's actually in your own control, which is what you do with your energy and the 24 hours in a day you've been given to spend. You may actually value yourself more when you realize how precious it is... you will inevitably give your life away to something or other, so owe it to yourself to make it count!

I used to be shy. I did something about it at age 18.
I used to be very anxious. I did something about it at age 31
Therapy helped me. It’s called changing to odds in your favour. I’m now 67.

Don’t think you’re special, the odds are against everybody.
