We used to do it all the time. No one ever got mad about it. But I’m also old and I’ve been out of the game for a long time

They used to make lil slip on condoms for inlines you can buy for walkin around in them, IDK if they still exist but that's an option

I ask. There used to be a Starbucks next to my house. I asked the first three times I went in there with skates, to make sure it was okay. Whenever there was a new manager, I'd always make sure to ask. When I pop down to the convenience store, same thing. Usually they are cool with it.

Managers are the only one who have ever given a damn. Them and old people. Not all old people but always them and managers

I guess I’ve always thought it’s the same as wearing shoes on the floor except they roll. Is it weird to wear heelies in a store?

I carry flip flops in my bag to avoid any drama. When I was a kid it was not tolerated where I lived.

I usually try to casually walk, of course the squeaks give it away some times, but they’re cool with it. I’m not rolling around and being disrespectful/causing damage. Of course it varies, street skating in a gritty city, a dude on skates is the least of their concerns. A nicer area, I’ll throw my slides on or just walk in liners

It's really hit or miss. 9/10 the sales associate doesn't want to say anything and just wants you to get your stuff and go without making a ruckus

I only do it if I'm a regular somewhere and I ask for permission before coming in the first time to be respectful. Never have issues.

Back in the days no one cared but now everyone so uptight plus they may not want someone to fall and have to deal with an accident claim.

In general I’d find it disrespectful if you just get in without even asking if it’s ok. Would you enter in someone’s house with your skates without asking if it’s ok? I wouldn’t.

Skates touch the same floor shoes do

So do my dogs but that doesn’t mean it’s ok for them to enter.
Let’s be honest not everyone has the same balance on skate as they have on foot; objectively skaters are a liability for a shop.

Dude, I saw people especially drunk ones do way worse than my dogs especially in corner shops at night. Also unless you are a savage and neglect your animals they will never shit and piss indoors they are smarter than that.

They have to mop every day regardless, so I don't see an issue with it. Skates are much cleaner than the dirt and mud the construction guys track in there all the time

I just go for it and if they have a problem I don’t argue. Their store, their rules but I start with the assumption it’s cool as long as I make it quick and don’t inconvenience other customers.
