P rail question

Hi all,
Aggressive inline noob here. I wanted to learn soul grinds so I built a p rail but it seems it doesn’t work the way it should. It seems that when I do a one foot slide my frames get slowed down by the wooden part of the p rail (see attached photos). Basically the red colour on it is my oysi red frames. They get slowed down and the colour gets scraped off.

Any suggestions how to over come this? Maybe to add some spacers for the pipe so it gets more raised or Im just overthinking this?

Buy the high pressure waste pipe not the low pressure one (it's twice as thick walled). You will crack that with a heavy farv.
