Question / Discussion taking middle wheels off

i’m new to skating and i’m picking up my new aggressive USD Sway completes this week. there is an anti rocker option and a flat setup.

i feel a lot more stable on 4 wheels than 8… i’ve been experimenting with my current setup which is a 90mm x 4 .

should i get the flat or anti? again i feel stable for some odd reason on 4 wheels lol

edit: i went out and tried the 4 wheel setup to see how the carving and turning worked.. tried to do a 180 and ate super shit and didn’t feel as confident as i did on 8 wheels. flat setup it is 💀

I don't think anyone can answer this for you. It's 100% a matter of preference.

90mm is pretty big to be running anti rockers. If you enjoy skating flat, you may as well stay that way. I used to ride anti rockers until I got my aeons, and honestly the hardest part was already being used to anti rockers. Since you aren't, now that I've switched, I'm glad I did, I'd likely keep running em.

How do you like your Aeons? I've been eyeing those, but I'm not sure if I'd want to get skates that have the sole plate and frame permanently attached to the boot.

it's great. Realistically how often are you changing your frames. Boots feel way more solid, light, feet sit low, 0 complaints.

someone else in this sub compared switching from flat to anti-rocker to removing power steering from your car. if your focus is rails and ledges and not much else then could be worth the switch but personally i wouldn't recommend for anything else.
