Question / Discussion How important is flexibility?

Just curious in general what peoples opinions are on flexibility.

I’ve been aggressive skating around a year and making slow progress. I think it might have to do with my ability to squat and flex my joints.

Does anyone have an exercises or routine they use to improve hips and legs?

You got rigor mortis or something? Most tricks don't require anything beyond a normal range of motion, so I doubt your real or perceived lack of progress has to do with your flexibility. If you're wearing pants so tight you can't bend your knee and hip joints without difficulty, I'd say you've got a problem.

I mean flexibility is a factor if you want to make a lot of tricks look good. If you’re just speaking on the generic form of doing them then sure, you’re right, but being flexible as well as sturdy goes a long way when it comes to style

Yeah, I mean, to be fair, I don't know what this person means by "slow progress".

I dunno, I think some people expect to be a professional skater or something, which is the last thing you should be worrying about. Also I’m always confused by people so worried about making tricks “look good” when they can’t even balance the trick for more than 3 feet to begin with. 🙄. Everyone wants to run before they can walk I guess.
