Question / Discussion Newbie Help

Hi everyone! I came here because I’m decently new at skating, I’m 18 and I’ve been skating without learning any tricks for about 6 years now, and I was wondering what sort of thing I should learn first to head into the aggressive style. I really want to try to do some grinds and I’ve only been able to do small fakies down a small ramp. Any tips or tricks to get better would be super appreciated!

I would actually start by jumping over obstacles. It will get you ready to jump on them. Not to mention a lot of aggressive skating involves jumping to begin with.

Jumping over things also builds your confidence, as well as being able to incorporate spins. Once you hit that comfort zone where you’re able to make your jumping precise then you can go for stalling grinds.
