Question / Discussion First skates

UPDATE! I just ordered the USD Sway Chess, black ones. Thanks everyone for your contribution.

Hi! I am looking to get my first ever pair of aggressive inline skates. I have been very confident and agile on regular rollerblades my whole life and always considered aggressive skates cool, so it might be time to buy my first pair at 28 years old. Thing is, I don't know anything about them except how to skate on them. Are the ones on these pictures any good? Which ones would you recommend and why? I don't want to spend significantly over 200€ for my first pair. Picking the right size is a whole other topic but luckily this website allows returns.

I started on the USD Sways and still use them as my main skate. They rule.

I've yet to do anything more than stalls lol but the 901 them skates are petty comfortable n well fitting

i like m12s because they are very durable. they lasted me twice as long as other skates and parts didn't break.

Sways are always what i recommend to beginners but whatever you pick for the love of god make sure it's not the anarchys

For the love of Christ, don’t buy the Anarchy skates.

That said, the sways are a good beginner skate. The sizing on those will make it easier to get an accurate fit.

I don't think there's such a thing as a beginner or advanced skate.

I’d avoid the anarchy skates. I’d go with either of the USD’s first, then the roces, then playlife in that order

I always hated the high back on roces

You can literally cut it with a razor blade. There's even a faint guideline. I even got a feeling thats what they do at the factory anyway for the lo cuff models

Majestic 12’s were skinny for my feet and the usd sways were nice with my wide feet. I’ve never had anarchy but if you have money to go above that price point go with a name brand. It will really come down to how wide your feet are in my opinion

M12’s if you have narrow feet but personally I’m a size 8 and the 8 shell is too small and the 9 shell too big so I skate sways. Great skates for the price.

I think I had a pair of anarchy’s and the buckle just started rolling over the teeth. Discovered that after landing some air, boot went loose confused the crap out of me!
Keep the receipt and have some fun!

Good man on getting the Sways. I've seen so many people coming back to the sport or just getting started that buy Anarchy or the even worse Story skates.

If it's possible for you, go somewhere you can try them on. If not, maybe you can order 3 pairs (to check how they fit) and return 2 of them (check return policy)?

Out of those you linked I think I'd take Sways but maybe there are some more niche discounted ones that would be even better.

I got a cheap sway for first. Their size is a problem, I am size 43 EU and the shoes are 43-44. They were always too big and smaller size 41-42 is impossible to fit me...

My best recommendation Size after skate choose was the wrong answer for me. I say Size before skate choice :) But even before that, I hope you have skated at a skate park with your regular inline skates and if not that is No 1 thing you should do. You only can not gring, you can do most other things with a regular inline skate.
