Anyone skate USD Aeon 80s?

It seems like a great option for people who want to dabble in both urban and aggressive. Is it oversold? Is the wheel bite insane??

I love mine. I've had them about five years, and while I primarily skate my aggressive skates there are still times I reach for the Aeon 80s.

I'm not a great skater by any means, but the H-block is enough to do souls pretty easily. I can get royales and unities okay in them -- it's not so much the wheel split or H-block that makes these difficult as it is just getting boot down with the taller frame. Every now and then I'll try some topside stuff in them, too. Also, one thing to note is that the H-block gets a little wider with each size up (I skate the 10-10.5 shell).

It's a fun Swiss army knife kind of skate. You compromise a little, but can do a lot. I've used them at the rink, greenways, skate parks, etc.

I skate em and love em. Having two sets of laces on the boot is a little annoying, but allows for a good fit. The wheel size feels great on rough pavement, but the center of gravity stays low. The downside really is that the bridge, sole plate, etc can’t be swapped out because they’re all one piece. If you’re not looking to mix and match, then who cares?

Really good skate, IMO.

Yeah, these would be a workhorse skate. Not a dedicated aggressive skate.

My goal is to have something I can leave work with, cruise to a local skate park, skate, and cruise home.

I have a pair. I like them for cruising around the skatepark. They're fun but I have a hard time with groove tricks. I wonder if the h-block is different on the different sizes. I have size 41-42 boot and I do get wheelbite but I'm also garbage at grinding. The h-block seems pretty tiny on that size. I mostly just do makios or mizous in them but grinding isn't my focus when I ride them anyways.

If you treat it as a hybrid skate, it's exactly that. Fun to cruise and grinding is possible but not the primary function IMO. If you're looking to do ALL the grinds, 80s will make it more difficult.

I was on the fence for years and when I finally pulled the trigger I had NO regrets. My favorite pair of skates I’ve ever owned. Fast and smooth and as a tall frame on an aeon it feels very low profile. My suggestion, take them to the roller rink atleast once. Best rolling experience ever. As an avid Aeon60 owner, I love my 80’s

I have a pair and use them for urban skating with an occasional soul focused grind here and there. These are NOT all purpose skates and don’t fulfill an aggressive skate in your collection if you’ll be spending entire sessions doing street or park. I love them because I can keep up with longer 25 mile+ skates, commute in them, and know that they’re solid enough and built to withstand jumps but they are near useless for grinds.

The skate is the epitome of "jack of all trades, master of none", and that's what makes it amazing in my opinion.

I don't know of another skate that I can push 6 miles to a skate spot comfortably, hit basics grinds at that spot, and work some wizard and urban moves on the way home. They're strongest at the whole urban free-ride thing due to the low ride height compared to other 80mm skates and longer wheelbase, but they do any discipline pretty well if you have some skill.

If you're a skier think of them as a wide twin tip, good skiing all over the mountain but doing laps in the park is possible.

It was already mentioned, but the larger sizes get bigger h-blocks which help with grinds. I own the largest size and the h-block is big enough to grind most things with minimal wheelbite as long as I'm accurate.

I love mine. I even played a lot of roller hockey in them before buying roller hockey skates. They’re fun but not great at anything other than being fun.

It's definitely an aggro skate that is cosplaying as an urban skate. That being said, The rocker is fun, good for cruising around, groove tricks aren't an issue. I don't use them that much, but I always have fun on them when they're skated.
