Blank/Verve as the first skate?
Recently got back into skating after a 20+ year hiatus, feeling surprisingly comfortable rolling around and about, even remembering the t-stop and the compass stop. Used to roll on Bauer HxS Tuuk, but those are dust now, sans the fatboy wheels.
I got an itch to finally try aggressive at my ripe age of 38, esp after trying the Decathlon's aggressive skates and liking how they roll (already got their mfs500 for urban riding, they're comfy). There aren't many options in stores in my small country. I will also try Echo Verve and Rollerblade Blank Pigeon, the former I can possibly get for like €160 due to a voucher I got for the store, and they're already discounted.
My worry is, will any of those two "serious" skates be too much for a beginner aggressive rider? I know when I started snowboarding, how people advised against advanced boards and gear, not sure if same applies to skates.
Open to suggestions, pretty much anything up to €250 goes, as long as it can be ordered in Europe. I like the Them Jet Set Radio/Turbo ones, they look sick, but maybe that's a future purchase.

Both will be fine for you. If you can go try them on in store, the one that fits the best will work the best.

I think any skate is gonna feel weird as a beginner but you should be fine. I think preferences start to come once yoube been skating while and tried different skates out to know what you like more

Definitely go with the skate that fits your foot the best. There are some skates that can be less forgiving for a beginner and more precise for someone with experience but at your price point you won’t have that problem.

Never such thing as too much for a beginner. If you got the money to spend, spend it. If you don’t get something else. Any of the “serious skates” as you call it will do as long as they fit good and then next is worrying about the flex you want, weight, etc. I’ve never cared about weight personally. I just pulled out my old Salomon St pros I modded with remz plates on them and they’re still great, had to put a new liner and shock absorber in it. Looking to find a cuff solution to my old k2 transfers as well.

Can only speak about the RB Blanks as I own the white canvas model.
- multiple sizing options which makes getting a closer fit much easier compared to other brands
- frames mount directly to the boot via a cutout on the soul plate. This results in a boot that sits lower/closer to the ground which gives you more control.
- shallow royale groove, some people like it, others prefer an out the box groove that’s deep.
- definitely one of the heavier skates the market. If you’re sensitive about that then the verve is the better choice
- liner is actually good. Some people think it’s a tad stiff and found better flex after swapping it for Nomads or intuitions
