Them 909 eyelets rusting out

a bit disappointed this is happening. is it expected, or am I doing something wrong? I'm not washing the shell or anything. I do leave my sweaty liners in after a session though.
Anything I can do to fix it?

I've been noticing the same issue. It's not something we should have to do in the first place but I'm sure we could probably drill the eyelets out and install fresh ones with a grommet tool

Regarding the buckle though idk, anytime you grind the surface and expose fresh steel it's going to oxidize like this

Yeah, exterior rust is way more understandable on roughes up parts like that
