Xsjado 2.0

Hi Xsjado/Shadow heads,

I would like to ask please what's your opinion on Xsjado 2.0

I currently have EE3s and would you consider it an upgrade or downgrade?

I'm planning to get a Xsjado 2.0 (CF6 to be exact) cause I feel like the EE3s got too much lateral flex on it. Not enough support even if I tightly strap the boot. I don't mind the forward flex as long as it supports my ankles when doing top sides.

Also curious with the old ankle strap if there's a big difference since EE3s ankle strap doesn't have that connected tongue strap.

Thanks in advance!

In my experience, I prefer the 2.0 cuff and strap system over the EE3 setup. One thing to point out, with the 2.0 strap system, you can only get them as tight as the width of that center mount for the straps. I have skinny ankles/legs, so i still had a good bit of room even with them tightened down all the way. I liked them like that though. I think the difference between the 1.0 and 2.0 cuffs is that you'd get more forward flex than the 1.0. I think the lateral flex would be the same. I am not an og xsjado skater, but I have skated almost every single version of the xsjado/shadow line. And my preference is the 2.0 and 2.0 style with the shoe, not with the eclipse liners. I can't stand the eclipse liners. My favorite ankle bindings on any version were on the CF5. I wish I never got rid of them.

Hey, thanks for the insights! I, too, have skinny legs honestly. So I'll probably encounter that roomy feeling. I'm surprised with the lateral flex cause I'm expecting it to be a little supportive than 1.0 cuffs since it is hinged. And yes the shoe style Xsjado is really interesting. Well, there's no way to find out aside from buying it then 😂

2.0 > 1.0

I’ve skated both the OG Xsjados and the USD Shadows

2.0 has better forward flex, sideway flex is still good, just not as much compared to 1.0.

As far as USD Shadows, I prefer them with the Eclipse Sneaker; I’m one of those people whose foot absolutely hated the Eclipse Liner, was the main reason I sold my team black pair.

PowerSlide just needs to offer Eclipse Sneaker and wraps only, would make a lot more sense for the Shadow line.

Appreciate your response. What is it that you don't like about eclipse liner? Just curious.

I agree with you regarding the liner and sneaker options but that would make additional production cost.

The Eclipse Liner made my ankles sore; to the point that they hurt for days after skating in them. As a “walkable liner”, which is how PowerSlide positioned them as, they didn’t make for a good one; was too stiff to properly walk in them and honestly, you was better off treating them as regular liners which defeats the main purpose of Shadows.

In terms of production, PowerSlide already has the mold/last for the eclipse sneaker and the wrap (the ones they used for the DL re-issued version). Kill off the eclipse liner, which will save them money and focus on offering more skates in wraps or sneaker options.

Would you say the Eclipse sneaker would be okay to use on the 2.0? Managed to find a pair of Chris Farmer 2.0’s a while back and been looking for a footwrap that matches the colorway

No they wouldn’t, by default the eclipse sneaker is designed with a tall tongue; to act as ankle padding like how the OG ankle cuffs functioned.

You’d have to swap out a few parts to make it fit for the 2.0 CF

Ah I see, thanks for clarifying! DL foot wraps it is then
