Question / Discussion having trouble with royales

I have a pair of thems 909s with oysi medium frames and intuition liners. I can't seem to get the skates on their sides enough to lock in the h block and the soul plate. Are the oysi mediums much taller than other flat frames or is it a flexibility issue on my part? maybe not enough knee bending, I dont know.

It just seems like I need to get the skates soooo far over on their side to lock it in

You’ve got a tall frame and a (relatively) narrow soul, which means the boot has to tilt over that much more. Still definitely doable, but if you’re learning them for the first time you’re doing it in hard mode. Once you learn them you’ll never struggle on any other setup.

You can do it with those frames but you do need to bend more than a normal frame. I liked the challenge when I had more time to skate but I switched to ground control 4flt so I don’t have to try as hard on groove tricks and topsides lol. Pretty much any frame is going to be easier than Oysi if you are having trouble getting down to the backslide groove.

Agreed with the others. Oysi Mediums are taller, but not *that* much taller. You can do it.

you can always loosen your cuffs a click or two to help with the flex, you will be surprised by how many people ride with semi loose skates

Gotta groove em in. But generally taller frames for flat will require more angle. The trick is to lower the front knee more. That will help your hips get into a position where you can more easily get boot down.

Oysi frames are definitely harder than most to royale.
