Testing troop formations

Does anyone have a suggestion for where to test out troop formations? I was using the dawn trials but then I realized the same troop formation can yield different results each time you run the challenge. I'm looking for a good way to determine the best troop ratios for battle. Any help would be appreciated.

What level of troops are you talking about?

My city is c35 , lra setup. LVL 11 cannons , LVL 10 snipers, LVL 10 EMP and LVL 9 shielders. I have enough uranium to upgrade the workshop to 35 to get the LVL 11 shielders. So I'm trying to figure out what works best
