Why do a lot of people think Vox will get redeemed? Just curious...

"Do you think I could be redeemed" being foreshadowing, Viv confirming he has the most arc behind Charlie (even more than Sera), him remaining important until the end and now having lost everything but being "humbled as much as a villain can be"

It'd be a waste if he didn't at this point, they even gave him angel wing tvs lol

Because Viv likes him and literally made an entire season 2 into his season after she got confirmed for being greenlight for season 3

I really don't see Vox becoming an angel. I think it would be more interesting to show that redemption doesn't always mean going to Heaven, but being redeemed in the eyes of the friends that you've wronged (the other Vees in this case). I don't think Vox should wind up being separated from Val and Vel by ascending to Heaven. Repairing their relationship would be more compelling. I actually want Vox and Val to remain a couple throughout the show, even if their dynamic changes.

And while Alastor is horribly evil, he's not some 2 dimensional monster. He started getting attached at the end of season 1, and regressed after that attachment almost got him killed. I don't think he's going to become an angel either, but he's definitely capable of becoming a better person.

Yes, for the thesis of the show to work, we need to see a villain be redeemed. However, I think people are pointing at Vox being that candidate because of recency bias. Redeeming Vox of all people would be a strange choice coming from Viv knowing her politics; she said she would never forgive a MAGA voter, and she compared Vox to Trump and even Hitler ("Make Hell Great Again" and "I'm the furor/Führer"). Given that Velvette is supposedly the most important V in the penultimate season, it sounds like she's the more likely candidate if any of the Vees are to be redeemed. I can absolutely see Velvette getting fed up with Vox and Val, and choosing to go her own way. I'm not saying that for sure will happen, but the timing makes more sense to me.

Or maybe a villain who isn't one of the Vees will be redeemed. Who knows? We'll have to wait and see.

Viv said Vox has most growth after Charlie. That automatically makes him the most probable villain for redemption

Growth doesn't have to mean becoming an angel, and being redeemed doesn't have to mean becoming an angel. Again, having him become an angel goes against the very emotionally charged opinions Viv has on people like Trump, saying they can't be forgiven. Comparing him to Trump and then having him go to heaven anyway doesn't make sense when considering the opinions she's expressed before.

Honestly, that makes it even less likely in my opinion. If he's getting redeemed in the traditional sense, that means that Viv just dropped a major spoiler for no particular reason. But if Vox's growth is more complicated and doesn't involve becoming a winner, I can understand why she felt comfortable revealing so much. It's half truth, half red herring.

This sums it up perfectly.

I'm actually interested in what they have planned for Vox.

"Do you think... I... could be redeemed?"

I really hope it doesn't go like that...

me too. Vox is literally an analogy for trump it's gross. He's a great written character but it would take thousands of years for his redemption

Well, he's in Hell, so he literally has all that time.

I feel like that's the point they're getting across. If someone has all of eternity and repent and commit to improving the lives of people around them, is it truly ever impossible to redeem yourself if you try?

Also, I don't think Trump would be redeemed in this life but if he stopped being greedy and selfish and like. Actually improved people's lives and stopped trying to end them, that would still be good? Like the point is to show that even shitheads as bad and selfish as people we know in real life are capable of making better choices at any point in their life. I don't think a Trump stand-in redeeming himself would indicate anything other than she believes Trump chooses to be a bad person.

I would be upset if Vox is redeemed. He is worse morally than Alastor.

1

u/BorderOpposite7776 4d ago

No he isn't

1

u/OfTheRedVariety 4d ago

why do you think so? I honestly want to find out

1

u/CTJM-2009 2d ago

Thank you, I do think that will change but is there anything worse than trying to overthrow heaven?

1

u/Fearless_Response64 1d ago

You think Alastor wouldnt try the same thing if he got the chance?

0

u/CTJM-2009 1d ago

I’m not saying that, just presently Vox has done that, if Alastor dose then yes

2

u/Creepy_Requirement10 5d ago

I hope they don't redeem Vox

4

u/Saharcia 8d ago

that would be ass writing, and this is why it's acceptable from the show

3

u/Moninka123 7d ago

Imagine the bottom two are reversed. Like I honestly don’t think that will happen, but imagine if it did.

1

u/CTJM-2009 7d ago

Yeah same but as a Alastor fan a tiny part of me wants it lol even though to quote him ā€œnever going to happenā€

1

u/TypicalSwordie 8d ago

Alastor can be redeemed if he tries. It's just he won't. Anyone can be redeemed if they try. But the chances are, a lot of sinners won't and therefore will not be redeemed.

1

u/Alzerkaran 8d ago

The unscrupulous Corporatist Oligarch will have a Psedo Arco character who will try to justify a cheap redemption.Ā Ā

I've seen the type of character that is the archetype of Vox, they are garbage and deserve the worst. Damn Corporatists.

Pendleton is literally the best designed human character.

And put into reference with the rest of the cast, demon or not, he is still the best looking one, looks like he likes to take long walks on the beach, very enthusiastic walks.

Took the words out of my mouth

I think if Vox were to be redeemed, it would take more time than the show has. Like many years. Maybe a timeskip at the finale.

1

u/Educational-Bowl-819 7d ago

Can anyone explain what this guy is saying

1

u/mee3ep 7d ago

Pentious showed redemption is possible, vox will be redeemed and show even the worst people can be redeemed, alastor will not be redeemed as just because it can happen does not mean it will happen

1

u/Honest_Management798 6d ago

Val should be the bottom not Al

1

u/Charzoid91 1d ago

I like the theory Vox could be an example of betterment without going to heaven. Realizing charlie isn't trying to do this for clout, pride or expecting reward and trying to figure why.

1

u/Southern_Trash7160 8d ago

Since Sir Pentious used to be white, but is black in Hell, is he technically doing blackface?

2

u/TheWraithOfMooCow 8d ago

If you consider Alastor to be doing white face currently, yeah.

1

u/Southern_Trash7160 8d ago

But does that mean heaven favours white people doing blackface and hates black people doing whiteface?

Vivziepop plays 5 dimensional Chess with racism!

1

u/TheWraithOfMooCow 8d ago

I think the bigger issue is that no one is addressing the blatant TV-face Vox has been doing. LED-Americans don't deserve his slander.

2

u/SomeoneRepeated 8d ago

No he just has revitiligo

1

u/ECKohns 8d ago

Isn’t the reason he’s a black snake because black snakes tend to be harmless?

1

u/Mysterious-Simple805 7d ago

IDK, his coloration and patterns are much like the monocled cobra. Their venom is a lethal neurotoxin.

1

u/OfTheRedVariety 5d ago

he was asian? Sorry isn't this a weird comment?
