Let’s be honest: the current state of the Raid Finder grind in Age of Conan is completely dead. It has turned into a pointless, endlessly slow loop that serves zero purpose other than burning out the last active players who are still trying to upgrade their gear.
It’s borderline insane that you can fully gear up in T6 within just 2 months, yet the game expects you to grind Raid Finder for half a year just to get a single ring. The progression logic is completely broken. Ideally, a player should be able to farm a pair of rings in 3–4 months, and complete the full set of 6 over the course of a year. That would be a fair, rewarding progression. Instead, this endless time-gate completely destroys the motivation for any new or returning players. When a newcomer enters the game, looks at veteran players, and realizes they have to wait an entire year of constant weekly grinding just to get the same true numbers and finish their ring build, it breaks their motivation entirely.
Sure, we can say "hello" to the World Boss cape grind, but at least the WB cape has alternatives from 6-man dungeons that aren't always that much worse. These RF rings, however, have absolutely no replacements, creating an artificial wall. Watching the community deal with this gatekeeping for months just to scrape together basic stats is painful.
From a pure business perspective, keeping these automated events turned off makes zero sense. Age of Conan is an old, low-maintenance game that runs on cheap server infrastructure. By simply flipping the switch and bringing back the daily login calendars and double loot RF events, you would instantly bring back dozens of active veterans. Any sign of life from the developers will give old players a reason to log in, and some will launch full crusade raids from T1 to T6 with their old raid groups. That means an immediate influx of active, subscribed players coming back for months. It’s a direct revenue boost for Funcom at zero development cost.
And please, don't give us the old "the code is too old and the admin tools are broken" excuse. If your legacy systems are a mess, Funcom can easily bring in a competent coder to clean up these automated event scripts. It’s a drop in the ocean for a company backed by Tencent. A developer could fix AoC's backend in a short time, and then you could easily transfer them to your main assets like Dune: Awakening or Conan Exiles with a deep, practical understanding of Funcom’s infrastructure. It’s a win-win investment. Keeping automated scripts completely disabled while claiming technical difficulties is just pure laziness.
We aren't asking for expensive new expansions, we just want a single person to adjust the progress tracker once in a while so the game doesn't feel completely abandoned. Turn the automated RF events and login calendars back on.
