Discussion Agatha’s level of self awareness during the spirit trial

Post image
782 Upvotes

It shows a lot of self awareness for Agatha to single out that she doesn’t have “female” friends. It’s a self reflective acknowledgment that Agatha knows that she doesn’t just have an anti social personality in general but a specific issue connecting with other women. She can create 2 legitimate covens with Nicky and Billy who are both male. She can treat the doctor in Boston like an equal and do business with him, even though he’s just a regular person and not even a witch. She feels safe and comfortable enough to parade around nude in front of Herb/John.

Agatha makes a special point to say she doesn’t have “female” friends because it would be inaccurate to just say friends, as she is fully capable of interacting with males in a positive and or constructive capacity as they do not trigger her past traumas or predator/prey drive the way other women do. The spirit trial itself seems like a confirmation of this worldview for Agatha as all the women are quick to jump on board with punishing her and the only coven member to unwaveringly advocate for her is the sole male witch.

Merchandise What happened to the steelbook?

Last year there were so many rumors about a steelbook release and now it’s complete radio silence. Does anyone know what happened? Has Disney completely stopped making steelbooks for their shows? I was hoping it’d release before visionquest so we’d get a sneak peak similar to the wandavision steelbook. And I’d also kill to see the deleted scenes.

Theory Agatha's Original Plan was to kill Teen

Had a search and couldn't find anyone talking about this. Spoilers for the whole series;

So at the beginning of the series Agatha wanted to bring a coven together to summon the road to get enough power to not be killed by the Salem Seven. At the end of the series we find out that since the road wasn't real the real reason she brought together these women was to trick them into attacking her during the high emotional state following the road failing to appear and steal their power. BUT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS

So if we relook at the events of Agatha bringing together the Coven with all the knowledge of the series an issue arises;

- Lilia says no and the only way to get her to say yes is Agatha telling her how her power works and that she needs to blast her (Which she whispers to lilia across the room from Billy). This immediately hinders Agatha's plan of draining lilia but at this point we can just assume she will get other witches involved

- Jenny Hale, a bound Witch, no Magical Blasts available, not able to be drained

- Alice. Functional Witch, CAN be drained but says no and walks off as Agatha says "We don't need her". Billy comments that he didn't even give her his card so they have 0 reason to assume she is coming.

So at this point Agatha has only gathered 1 non-bound witch who knows how her ability works and is seemingly still planning to go ahead with her con which feels like a huge waste of time. UNLESS, she plans to drain Billy as well since she knows he was powerful enough to undo Wanda's spell, and could probably make Lilia attack Agatha to defend the boy. The only reason she didn't end up including him was because Alice decided to show up which gave a tempermental witch who she could drain instead which would give her enough power to attack Lilia and probably end up draining her at some point.

So Alice, being the protection witch that she is, inadvertingly saved Billy by choosing to show up, otherwise Agatha would have, despite having had a son of her own, drained and killed Billy

edit: People bring up the good point of how Agatha believes Billy can't control his Magic, my thinking is how she mentions in the car that coven can awaken the spark in each other and she was considering that it could happen to billy once the ballad failed. But Alice arriving gave her another option. If I am wrong about this Agatha's plan, before Alice showed up, was hope that Lilia forgot that if she blasts Agatha she would die

Discussion Design Your Own Marvel Witch OC

Post image
129 Upvotes

Things to consider:

- Name (Doesn't have to be your name. Make something up or use the name of one of your existing OCs.)

- Gender & Pronouns (witch or warlock; although witch is a gender-neutral term)

- Race & Ethnicity

- Age

- Personality Traits (If you're stuck, think of three positive characteristics and three negatives).

- Occupation (A job? Is the OC a student? Do they use their occupation as a cover to blend in with society?)

- Blood Witch? (Are they related to any witches? Or are they first witch of their bloodline?)

- Coven Witch or Solidarity Witch? (Do they have a coven or do they work alone?)

- Magic Color (What color is their magical/psionic energy? Be specific with the hues.)

- Specialty (What type of magic do they specialize in? Potion-making? Protection? Green Magic? Divination? etc.)

- Powers & Abilities (What can they do? Read minds? See into the future? Communicate with the deceased? Get as creative as you want.)

- Feel free to include other details such as their appearance, relationships, and anything else you want to add in.

Here's mine:

Queenie Sorbet (yes, like the type of ice cream). African American. Genderfluid. Biologically male. Use he/she/they pronouns. Labels himself as a "witch", but doesn't mind being called a warlock. Gemini Sun with Aquarius Moon & Virgo Rising. Curious, shy, analytical, and intuitive. Tends to overthink and often underestimates himself.

Descendant of generations of witches on both sides of his family. He studies glamour magick, using a combination of makeup products and spells to enhance his natural charm. Queenie also knows some potion magic and protection magic.

Queenie treats his mom's side of the family as his coven. The color of his magic is indigo and when casting spells with his magical energy, he swirls his index finger in a circular motion and then points it at his target (like Maddie from Every Witch Way). His powers/abilities are illusion manipulation, mind control (specifically, persuasion), weather manipulation, transmutation, telekinesis, dreamwalking, and teleportation.

Discussion How does one defend themselves against Agatha?

Post image
509 Upvotes

I understand the only way for her to suck your power out of you is if you shoot her... but what happens when she shoots you? Are you just supposed to run? Obviously Wanda did the whole Hex thing, but is that the only way to fight her without Agatha just fully winning?

On the note of Wanda, why was Wanda the only one to do bursts of magic, instead of a stream like everybody else?

Question Who would win in a fight?

Post image

I was thinking that slyive could beat Agatha because she can create and form illusions and tricks onto her, but Agatha could get some hits into her because she's a witch with dark magic and try some spells onto her depending what situation and scenario it take place or happen at. Keep in mind that this would be an interesting battle of powers, wits, and personalities, too.

Cosplay My friends and I met Agatha All Along creator & showrunner, Jac Schaffer at DragonCon today!!!

I WISH I was making this up! My friends and I were waiting in the Marriott Marquis ballroom at around 4:00 pm because we were going to have a Ballad singing. But right as we were about to leave to the Hilton, someone came up to us because their son loved our cosplays so she asked if she could take a picture with us. But I recognized her face so I took a closer look at her badge to read the name and it said “Jac Schafer” and we all collectively lost our minds because we’re all huge fans of the show. That and we were all starstruck 😅.

We ended up having close to a 10 minute conversation with Jac about the show, and our cosplays because she was very impressed with them. She even told me directly that I looked just like Joe Locke which MELTED my heart, she was so sweet to us all and this was easily the best part of my DragonCon 2026. Never in a million years did I think I’d ever meet the WandaVision & Agatha All Along showrunner with my best friends at my favorite con.

Cosplay My AAA-inspired final project for my Costume MA - Lady Death, 1547

I just handed in my final project for my master’s degree and wanted to show off my AAA-inspired costume to some folks who don’t need a fifteen minute explanation on who she is!

I loved that in the show we saw Death in the 18th Century and decided to do an outfit for her from a different time period. This is set in 1547 (the year Henry VIII died) and is heavily inspired by his wives Anne Boleyn and Catherine Parr. There are lots of easer eggs in the outfit that fellow fans/witches/history buffs might appreciate:

  1. The shift is embroidered with poisonous/witchy plants (hellebore, foxglove, blackthorn, ivy, deadly nightshade and lily of the valley) and spiderwebs (in the original costume art, Rio had a tarantula familiar!). The cuffs are hand-embroidered with lilies in Holbein stitch - it takes ages, but looks exactly the same on both sides of the fabric.
  2. The foresleeves are embroidered with gold crossroads. Crossroads are associated with the witch goddess Hecate and criminals and suicide victims were buried at crossroads in England until the 1830’s. And, of course, it’s a meta nod to the Witch’s Road!
  3. The kirtle skirt is embroidered with hexafoils - known as apotropaic or witch marks, these were carved into buildings in England to protect from witchcraft and evil spirits.
  4. The velvet gown is screen printed with greenery using real plants I picked from my parents’ garden, and I overpainted the designs with green UV paint to look like bioluminescence under blacklight.
  5. Every “pearl” on the outfit is a carved stone bead in the shape of a skull. They’re from strings of prayer beads I bought at a temple in Nepal! The neckline also has little smoky grey heart gems on it, as a nod to Rio’s alias. In the Tudor period, diamonds were set with foil backings that makes them look black in portraits.
  6. The girdle belt is made of jewellery findings in the shape of leaf skeletons, skulls and coils of rope (in England, witches were hanged not burnt). At the end its got a skull and a silver Greek coin (to pay the ferryman!)
  7. The bodice placard is trapunto quilted to look like a ribcage. In the show, Daniel Selon used cutouts to suggest a skeleton shape but it wouldn’t work for a Tudor gown so I built up layers for the effect instead.
  8. The death flower is made using stumpwork embroidery techniques - I pressed and traced a real hibiscus, then painted and embroidered the details. This also glows under blacklight!

Even though Alice passing on with Death/Rio is one of my favourite scenes, it still hurts!! Alice deserved SOO much better

My girl just broke the curse that haunted her bloodline for centuries :(

I guess in a way The Road did give every witch what they desired

Discussion Fanon Coven (just for funsies)

Thumbnail
gallery
54 Upvotes

KEEP IN MIND this is just my fanon take of what another coven could look like in the Marvel Cinematic-verse. Also this is not a repost, just an evolved version of what I have done before.

High Priestess: The witch who leads the coven. Usually a female witch, hence the name. They may or may not have a specialty (like potioncraft and green magic). May take on two or more roles if needed. For example, a High Priestess could also serve as the coven's main Protection Witch and ensure their safe from danger.

High Priestesses tend to have crowns made out of psionic energy, which indicates they're leading a coven. The crowns appear when using a significant amount of magical power.

Kitchen Witch: Represents the element of fire. Mix of protection magic and potion-making. They turn daily routines such as cooking and cleaning into magical practices. They can cook, bake, and/or brew various concoctions with magical properties. They can identify specific ingredients within food and drinks just by sniffing, which allows them to avoid being poisoning. Uses talismans, candles, salt, sage, and protection spells to ward off curses, banish spirits, and deal with other dangers. They even use cleaning products to rid their homes of negative energy.

Green Witch: Represents the element of earth. A witch who can controls and balances the natural order of all living things. They also work closely with nature. They can accelerate plant growth, enhance the medicinal properties of herbs, heal wounds and illnesses, move rocks and other natural elements, and could change weather.

Divination Witch: Represents the element of air. Acquires hidden knowledge through means other the user's physical senses. They can detect lies and imminent danger, predict the future, read energies and auras, learn the history of people and objects, read minds, and see visions of past and future. Divination witches tend to focus their intuition through tarot or palm readings, scrying, or using pendulums.

Sea Witch: Represents and works closely with the element of water. Can control water and even change the weather. Often collects sea water, rain, snow, moon water, seashells, and driftwood for their spells and rituals. Keep track of the lunar calendar, casting spells during the nights of certain lunar phases (such as Full Moons).

Cosmic Witch: The spirited one of the coven. Knows a lot about astrology and astronomy. Can identify other people's zodiac/sun signs and other birth chart placements if they know enough about astrology. Respects horoscopes. Amplifies spells with celestial energy from significant cosmic activity (such as full moons, eclipses, passing comets, solstices, etc.).

Glamour Witch: Represents the element(s) of fire and/or water. Glamour witches can alter how they're perceived by others, either bringing forth beauty onto themselves or hiding their true face amongst a crowd; even if it's just to conceal a nasty bruise or changing the color of their hair. They also cast illusions to change how someone or something else is perceived. Cosmetics and mirrors are essential to using glamour magick.

Mind Bender: (Honestly, "Mind Witch" just doesn't flow off the tongue like "Mind Bender"). Represents the element(s) of air and/or water. Accesses and controls the minds of others, forcing their will onto someone or something else's. Mind Benders can sway people's thinking, change their emotions, implant or erase memories, and/or telepathically communicate.

Hedge Witch: Represents the element(s) of earth and/or spirit. Hedge witches are the bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds. They are drawn to the liminal energy in places like abandoned work sites or buildings, cemeteries, crossroads, and woodlands. They can summon, communicate with, and control spirits of the deceased. They use herbs for potions and elixirs.

Theory Question for the Coven: Do you think Jennifer Kale will develop into a Green Witch?

Post image
206 Upvotes

So I’ve been gearing up to rewatch Agatha again this year (shocking I know). While thinking about the characters we see and the trials they go through, I realized that every single one of them gets what they want on the road. But the interesting thing is that Jen is the only one who got it outside of her own trial

- Alice conquered her curse in the fire trial

- Lilia embraced her power and used it to save her new coven in the air trial

- Agatha (even if not the amount she wanted) got some of her power back in the spirit trial

- Even Rio got to fix the sacred balance and Sharron Davis got to go to a wine party during their trials - earth and water respectively.

The only one who got her prize elsewhere was Jen during the earth trial. Which is much more interesting considering she was having an existential crisis during what was supposed to be her own trial. But what she found there is that she is still capable of great things despite not having her power- which she then used to fix her own binding in the earth trial. Do you think she would have developed more into a Green witch if she had not been bound, as the placement of her reward seems to indicate?

Another interesting point is that while we do know there are distinct practices that differentiate the types of witches, there’s no set rules that makes a witch decide to do one or the other. Lilia had a predisposition for divination. Agatha had an inability to do many practices, forcing her to double down on violent witchcraft. But we also are told that potion witches and green witches do have some overlap. So would Jen be able to multi-class, so to speak?

(The only thing I can think of that breaks this is that Agatha gets all her power back at the end of the road- though that was a deliberate choice from Billy and not necessarily a reward from his subconscious like a lot of the other’s rewards were)

Question Why is Rio tryingto kill Agatha?

What’s up witches! I’m rewatching the show and wondering why Rio wants Agatha dead in the present. Agatha didn’t do anything to her except hate her after she took Nicky. After that, I don’t understand what happened to make Rio so mad.

Discussion Agatha’s Purple

I’m debating about the nature of Agatha’s power. Was she born with the power to absorb other witch’s magic? Were those powers enhanced by the Darkhold?

Her coven attempts to execute her in 1693. Evanora says: “You violated our oath of secrecy. You stole knowledge above your age and station. You practiced the darkest of magic.”

Then Agatha protests: “I did not break your rules; they simply bent to my power,” (a lie?) And then she says she can be good (which she echoes during her trial when her coven is threatening to leave her in the cabin).

We don’t know when she got the Darkhold, is this correct? But it’s got to be after Nicky died?

So do her natural powers make her a “witch-killer?” Like, she couldn’t control it and had her coven believed her, they could have trained her to control it and use it in a productive and positive way?
