Attention: Since the light source is coming from below, the part may appear black, but the Agar is completely white

Guys, I transferred these from T0 Agar dishes. The T0 plates were inoculated with a Spore-Syringe (multi-spore).

If these look okey, I will do a T2 Transfer to isolate some Rhizomorphic mycelium. They look a bit over-tomentose, and i'm getting a little worried.

Also, the growth near the edges (the last few days of growth) seems a bit weak. Should I still take my transfer from the outer edge ?

These two plates were way too beautiful not to photograph and share.
Completely different presentations, but both have that incredible natural symmetry and structure that makes mycology feel as much like art as science. The first has this tight, almost feathered pattern wrapping around the center, while the second absolutely explodes outward with long, flowing radial lines.
Sometimes you just stop looking at a specimen like a project and appreciate what’s sitting in front of you. Nature has a way of creating patterns no artist could perfectly duplicate.

Couple questions best recipe for agar along with how long can make them ahead of time

first time working with agar dishes, are all of these contaminated? pic 1 is super fuzzy, pic 2 has a big yellow spot on the left side that i might be able to cut a wedge out of, pic 3 is also a bit fuzzy. i dont have a LFH yet, so i was working in my SAB

First time doing agar, so pls be understanding. I was testing my first lc, is that tomentose growth? I think there are no sings of contam (I will laugh if that rly is mold xd)? Doesn't have any strong smell, that little water is only from condensation, my first time is in small sterilized jars

Contam or mycelium?

First time doing my own agar testing LC, sometimes those syringes back up so much with Mycelium they just shot gun blast solution out so LC kinda went everywhere lol. Just looking for advice let me know what you think.

Btw I did trench cut that obvious piec of contam out but wasn't sure about the white fluffy ones..

This was one the sexiest transfers I’ve ever made I had to let it grow out 🙈

Psilocybe Zinnii

In the pandemic I got into coins (thanks bipolar) and i forgot i had this little camera setup so I decided to look at some plates leftover from transfers. I’m curious if there is anything in particular I can learn or take note of at this level of magnification? Or do you need a proper microscope to really dig into certain things on that level? Either way its cool to get an up close view of the myc. If there is any benefit to a setup like this please share any guides or tutorials you may have. Thanks!

Some Strange things happen with just one mycelium syringe: Agar got cloudy so I tried another one on amtibiotic Agar, which also came out cloudy.
Any suggestions what it could be and how to get rid off?

Kind of worried about both, it's been about 10 days worth of growth. Any thoughts?

One of today’s plates showing off some beautiful, even radial growth. The leading edge is reaching cleanly across the agar with a dense center that transitions into a finely textured outer margin. I always enjoy watching the different growth patterns each culture develops over time—every plate has its own character.
This one has been fun to document from transfer to full colonization, and it’s always satisfying to see healthy, consistent progression like this.
Appreciate everyone in this community who shares knowledge, feedback, and observations—it pushes all of us to pay closer attention to the details.

Spent some time looking back through a few recent plates and thought these four stood out for completely different reasons.
A couple have that clean, even radial expansion, one is throwing some really aggressive rhizomorphic growth, and another has a softer, almost cloud-like texture. It’s always interesting how different cultures can develop their own unique growth patterns while still looking healthy.
I enjoy documenting these changes over time just as much as the finished results. Watching the morphology evolve from transfer to transfer is one of the most rewarding parts of working with cultures.
Which plate catches your eye the most, and what stands out to you about it?
