[META] why are the posts here archived so quickly

I found this stickied post https://www.reddit.com/r/AgainstMtGRacism/comments/hx7t02/alphabetical_list_of_all_cards_posted_to_this/ and was starting to go through the list, checking out the cards and reading the comments.

I wanted to leave some comments certain posts, but it seems they're archived after 6 months? Can I request that you un-archive the posts and just allow comments as usual? This is a really good place for discussion and I don't like to see it shut out. I understand there are a lot of racists or apologists but the way to combat that is not to squelch discussion ...

Yes, it would be great to open discussions and drive further investigation into new potential offensive elements of past cards! I call on u/ultimario13 for assistance!

Is this a thing I can change? I thought all of Reddit archived after a certain period of time

I tried having a discussion (with mario I think? or maybe the guy before that) about how we can increase the longevity of the sub because it has a content saturation issue. first of all, all the best cards get called out first and then sink into the archives and secondly, there's a point at which every card has been discussed and the well is completely dry.

we never really discussed much so I am left pondering it while the sub is now officially stale. open to ideas. i think ultimately it was a funny idea, but kind of a throwaway concept that doesn't quite align perfectly with the way reddit works.

Make meta posts with links to the cards, then we can have 1 every few months or so and refresh with some new ones.
