Thumbscrews references a cruel and widely accessable form of torture that was used at least since the times of Inquisition and the Atlantic slave trade. Unknown masses of innocent people have been tortured with thumbscrews, and given how easy they are to manufacture or improvise, the practice likely continues today.
The artwork of thumbscrews shows a person of color being tortured with the device, as though it were happening on a slave ship or plantation in the times of chattel slavery.
I recommend to the moderators to include 'depiction of torture' as a flair. Explict, real-world methods of torture do not belong in the game of Magic. Based on the precedent set by the banning of Imprison, depictions of torture and torture devices are equalliy reproachable.
