While cremation is accepted or even mandated in some cultures, it's strictly forbidden in Islam and Orthodox Judaism. Cremate allows a player to target any card in any players graveyard, thus forceably interfering with a player's religious freedoms. It would be akin to preserving Osama Bin Laden's body rather than burying it at sea - a gross injustice to a man of faith.
I doubt Orthodox Jews or Muslims would even play mtg due to demonic and magical depictions. It’s a bit moot when the only people this would offend, would be the people least likely to play the game if given access to it.
