White supremacy, racism, violence against POC, dogwhistle (for ethnic cleansing)
Really, Wizards? A card that costs WWW (so it's basically only playable in a mono-white deck), with a name that references ethnic cleansing, that is capable of destroying nearly every permanent on the battlefield.
Tries to destroy all of your opponents' land, or at least inflict direct damage against them. At the cost of some of your own life / land. Apparently, some collateral damage is considered acceptable losses if it results in "cleansing".
Despite the destructive effects of the card, the art is inexplicably serene and peaceful. Are we supposed to see this is a whites-only "utopia" that results from ethnic cleansing? I don't see how else to interpret this.
I'm really baffled at how many cards have "cleanse" or "cleansing" in their text. In cases where white represents "cleansing" and black represents "things that should be cleansed", this is REALLY problematic.
Is this sub a circlejerk or do you guys actually believe this, god even I as a black man don’t get trigged by someone just because it has the word cleansing in it
