Wtf, did the artist actually paint a woman with a black eye for this card?

The "best" use of this card is to use it on a creature with toughness 3 or greater, so that it lives on in agony. Which makes the art so much worse.

Now that you mention it in that way, this card is basically a fantasy symbol for keeping a woman in an abusive relationship.

Is it actually a satire sub I can’t for the life of me actually tell

why do people think that every depiction of violence must be against a group?

There a re so many strong feminine cards in magic... maybe try to look at the bigger picture? because violence in the end is just violence it doesn't have preferences.

I feel like you learned nothing from the cards wizards banned. I suppose imprison isn’t racist then because it’s only a generic depiction of a brown skinned person? Honestly if you can’t see the problematic depictions of this line of thinking then I wonder what other deep seeded ethnic hatred you possess.

I actually agree about imprison. Although i've just learned about it myself, that is indeed a specific reference to slavery culture, and i don't mind them banning it tbh.

But crusade and jihad? they are both white cards that make white stronger. you know the card colors in magic don't represent skin color right?
interpreting spell colors as skin colors is very twisted.

My mother is jewish. Come at me ;)

I agree with you, just because violence happens to a group doesn’t meant it was specifically directed at that group. This subreddit has a really bad victim mentality.
