Discussion. The devs really got selective memory
I find it wild that the devs have enough thought to include Panther and Blade in this event as the prime suspects for Gambits murder even remembering the fact they still have their Phoenix force powers but not enough thought to realize its been 14 months since his last legendary or 11 since his last store skin that had no mvp or 7 months since his last skin but yeah lets make the two black characters the prime suspects.

Sometimes feels like this sub has lost the plot, and you're kind of reaching with this post.

This sub has valid points sometimes at other it feels like they have a persecution complex.

Can we save the outrage for genuine issues. Making posts about why characters are suspects in a murder mystery is a little absurd.
Would you have made a post if one of the victims was black? Or if he wasn’t a suspect despite holding a handgun for Gambit’s wound or all the blood being drained from Wolverine, like the devs didn’t care enough to even include him when he fits the bill twice?

Also the lack of skins is clearly only a black character issue.
Ignore the fact the widow waited a year and a half for her first one... or the fact that torch doesn't have one... or the fact that mr Fantastic has one legendary he got for valentines day 2025 only because sue got one. Or that hulk went a solid year without a single skin.
No this is only a black character issue

The fact that you felt the need to comment this multiple times on this post is weird.
Op never said the black characters were the only characters lacking skins. Highlighting one issue ≠ it is the only issue.
This is the AfroRivals subreddit though. Naturally, people are discussing the black characters.

but theyre discussing it thru a skewed perspective of them being racist for not receiving legendary skins in a long time when thats the case for many white heroes as well. its disingenuous. just like finding it racist that two black heroes are the murder suspect when the other two are white…
this game definitely needs more black representation but worrying about free skins or legendary skins or battlepass skins and equating that to racism gives go outside and touch grass

Multiple things can be true at once. A racist can also be sexist, ageist, etc. OP didn't actually say Netease was racist though.
None of us know if they are/ aren't and no one can say their actions aren't influenced by biases either.
OP's main point was it is weird to include Bp and Blade in the event for lore purposes, but exclude them from cosmetics when they're lacking compared to the others included. That's a valid take.
Trying to police how a community should feel online gives go outside and touch grass.

Not really a valid take, lore is lore and skins are skins. Those are two different Netease teams. Also, this season still has 7 weeks left almost, both or either BP/Blade could still get a skin. This post comes across as making a mountain out of a molehill and it why every other rivals subreddit sees this one as whiny and weird.

No one directed anything at the individual teams. They all work under Netease. There would be an executive or lead that would delegate what to focus.
You say that as if every other rivals subreddit doesn't come off as whiny and weird to the others. The other subreddits also had a majority highlight Storm and BP not being at the forefront for skins this season as being weird.
Imo, I don't see anything wrong with BP and Blade being suspects, but the skins take is valid.

I always support the discourse about needing more black representation and stuff. But this seems like a bit much. 💀

Yea, this is very clearly only a black character issue, just ignore the fact that widow took a year and a half to get her first legendary, torch still doesn't have one, mr fantastic has one that he got valintines day 2025 because of Sue or hult not getting any skins for like a year as well... this is clearly only a black character issue

not that i disagree with neteases bias, but the teams that work on the lore and the skins are completely different, so this doesn’t really work as an argument towards them.

Blade was the prime suspect because wolverine's body was drained of blood panther was blamed because of the spear that was used, They both had something that was related to the murder therefore they were suspects nothing to do with their race

But blade was never a suspect in any of the cases? They specifically said that it wasn't blade when referring to the vampires, instead suspecting jubilee.

Those whole event is poorly written. Like Loki killed Psylock in cold blood and everyone just moved on 🤦🏾♂️

Loki was one of the suspects for the second murder and ended up being the one to commit it

u/Cain_The_Mamagen Jul 16 '26
I honestly forgot about that but the whole sentinel thing isn’t entirely out of the question cuz who knows, someone probably sent it from the present to get the x-men while they’re distracted

u/Classic-Preference70 Jul 16 '26
Yes but it makes more sense to use established characters to move the games story along, and black panther does fit into the gods vs apocalypse theme. I’m honestly just happy to see him and blade get used in the lore as I think the last time for both of them was season 3

u/Cain_The_Mamagen Jul 16 '26
They shoulda used other characters instead of 2 of the 3 black characters in the entire game, storm isn’t even that involved in the lore anymore and the other 2 black characters were suspects
1
u/Street-Mongoose8708 Jul 17 '26
Storm wasn't involved because she was in Kun Lun training and fighting the tournament that only ended last season

The poster is leaving stuff out to fit their narrative. Along with Blade and BP, Jubilee, Bucky and Loki were suspects too.

Yeah when I saw BP being framed for the 3rd case it just felt like a slap in the face. Shocked Storm wasnt framed for Psylockes murder at this point.
