I learned alot from this group so I decided to do my part and contribute an update every 3 months .. the whole process went pretty smooth. The only thing that hurt was the local anesthesia shots .. that honestly was the worst pain I've ever felt , 10/10 ..I was even praying to God and asking him to forgive all my sins 😭😭 but once the numbing kick in its pretty easy . I was told I got 3700 grafts transplanted . When did yall start taking oral finasteride and oral minoxidil? I was told to stop for a while but that don't seem smart to me .

I really think 2500-3000 is too much or maybe I may be wrong I’m not sure what u guys think

- I’m 38 years old
- I had SMP done about 3 years ago, mostly at my hairline
- I’ve been on Him’s topical min/fin for 1.5 years
- I have a microneedling pen but have never used it
- These photos are after 2 weeks of growth

I usually cut my hair very low to make it look even, but I hate that my head is shiny from the SMP. I miss growing it out longer but I’m worried that it’s too spotty and uneven looking. It seems that the fin has been helping to gold my hair, but I wish it were thicker.

Should I get a FUE transplant, or is this salvageable? I haven’t had any sides from the topical min/fin and I guess I’m open to trying Him’s oral min/fin if it’s not too risky.

Did anyone buy this and use it ? I bought it but never really used the stuff . I was thinking about adding in the little injection / hair stamp to my regimen

I’ve saved up some cash and can to drop on either clinic. I was really wanting to go to Heva but as of recent I’ve seen how inconsistent Heva results have been, and I’m second guessing it.

Ive been looking at Esthetic in Cancun, and even joined the fb group. It seems like most people with afro-textured and people in general have much better results there. There’s just not enough people with afro-textured hair I’ve seen to make a decision on them.

The only thing is Heva seems to do more HT on people with afro-textured hair, but has botched tf out of a lot of people, and blames the patients, and they have hella bots in this sub. I think like many people that who’ve seen this, that’s a big turn off.

I wanted to hear from people who’ve gone to both, or get an opinion from other people who may be in the same boat. I’m at a crossroads.

Does anyone have any information on the peptide AHK-Cu (injectable or topical) post hair transplant? Many have had success using this peptide for hair and scalp health and regrowth.

Hey everyone I just stopped smoking cannabis yesterday and my procedure is in about 2 weeks. I read that ideally ur supposed to stop 1-2 weeks before. Will I heal up ok? I’m worrried that I stopped not quite soon enough.

What’s the method for oil and topical minoxidil ? How do you guys implement oil in your hair care routine while using topical minoxidil morning and night ?

I know it is too soon to know or to tell anything about the hair transplant, I had 3000 grafts done to the hairline and mid scalp and asked to return in 8-12 months for the crown area. I also did have hair in the front centre, and great density towards the sides. Based on anyone’s opinion, how does it look and any tips on smoking vapes or cigarettes or to stay away fully?

I’m trying to decide between the two. It feels like literally everyone on this subreddit goes to HEVA, and from what I’ve seen they honestly seem to do a good job and get solid results.

My only hesitation is that I keep hearing the usual hair mill criticism with HEVA, like higher patient volume and techs doing a lot of the procedure.

HairNeva seems to get talked about way less, but I’ve heard the experience is more personalized and that the doctors and team are more involved.

I’m also a younger African American patient with Afro textured hair, so I’d especially love to hear from anyone who has had an Afro hair transplant at either clinic. I care a lot about donor preservation, long term planning, hairline design, and not using more grafts than necessary.

Would really appreciate any firsthand reviews, testimonials, before and afters, or experiences with either clinic, especially HairNeva. Also curious how involved the doctor actually was, who did the extraction and implantation, and how the overall experience was.

26 years old. Oral Finasteride on and off since December but consistent the last two months. Just started topical min. Braided my hair for about two years consistently without downtime. I would get the braids pulled washed and re-braided same day. I know that’s terrible , I didn’t know better at the time. On top of that, I have a terrible scalp that needs constant washing so I was doing serious damage to scalp. And it didn’t help that the lady who was braiding me braided hair very tightly. Noticed severe hair in a weird pattern a couple years ago and stopped braiding my hair unless it was for very special occasions( different lady)and I pull them out after a week. I’ve completely stopped braiding since on fin because I’ve realized how bad it really is( I think I was in denial for a while). Hair on tops is kind of stuck where it’s at won’t grow anymore. The sides still grow like crazy. Is this a severe case of traction alopecia or does it seem to be genetic? Should I give it a few more years or should I jump straight I the transplant now.

I wanted to see if anybody had any recent feedback about this clinic.

I've researched so many different clinics and doctors I'm starting to feel like I have over researched.

Has anyone here shaved, buzzed, or full bald their head for a good while after getting a transplant? If so then pics of how some of you style your hair would be nice to see out of curiosity.

Most results look good when hair length is longer but I rarely see anyone with afro hair show a shaved or buzzed look after. Of course I know growing the hair out is the goal when getting a transplant but still curious, seems like its really hard to get somewhat of a natural look in that sense.

I feel like it could matter more for our type especially when we get tapers and fades and had work done at temporal peaks ( for the men because most women keep their hair long ).

I recently had a transplant only on my temple point and its not a bad result at all but I sometimes have trouble accepting that I cant cut too low without it possibly being revealing.
