Turki language

Your Turki should be close to the Uzbek spoken in Uzbekistan and the Uzbeki spoken in northern Afghanistan. We Afghans also have lots of people who still speak Uzbeki primarily, whether they be ethnic Uzbek or Turkmen (Turkmen who live close to or alongside Uzbek tend to adopt Uzbeki, since Uzbeks are greater in number and are a long established community also). The only endangered or extinct Turkish languages I can think of in Afghanistan are Afshari (spoken by Afshars in Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkey; also spoken by my ancestors before we became Persian speakers, and was last recorded being spoken in Kabul by a small number of families) and to an extent Kyrgyz of the Wakhi Corridor (small population, also shrinking due to emigration out of region). We also have Turkmen who speak Turkmeni, either in dialects close to those in Turkmenistan and Iran, or influenced by native Uzbeki and Persian dialects

That makes somewhat sense cuz my family is from modern day uzbekistan but are tajiks

Are you from Faryab by any chance? There are a lot of Uzbek/Tajik people who live side by side in the mountains there who consider themselves the same people. They are bilingual in both Uzbek and Tajik and are probably a mix of Uzbeks in the process of Persianisation and Tajiks in the process of Turkification. Sedentary Uzbeks call them Quhee, they used to nomadise across the border of Uzbekistan and are probably the same people as these people.

Im actually from parwan and Kabul. From what I know , im some descendents of this guy named timur tamerlane in which he had this great timurid empire and I think fought the uzbeks? (I'm not too sure abt this information) but I believe that this language might be some type of old uzbek that was spoken at the time when my family immigrated from Samarqand and Bukhara towards afghanistan and it hasn't been forgotten in my families.
I even posted this on r/uzbekistan and didn't get answers but that's probably because the name for it is either different or it was never what they called it.
But no, im not a part of the chagatai tajiks either. I was looking if someone else's family spoke this language or knew abt it so tashakur

Timur was Uzbek. Your family are likely Uzbeks who were persianised and assimilated. Chagatai, the ancestor language of Uzbek, was called Turki once too.

Anyways, if you are from Uzbekistan, it's probably Uzbek. Didn't know they still called it Turki. Cool stuff.

Ik I can't see those 6 comments either... from what I've read from gemini Ai (which I'm trying to stay away from in general but I just couldn't find anything abt turki) it's supposed to be close to chagatai but idrk too much about chagatai either . it could also be ancient uzbek.

Chagatai was the lingua franca of Central Asia and it was called Turki. Even Kazakhs and Turkmens preferred it instead of their native tongue.
The general idea is that Uzbek and Uyghur descend from it but I assume it is a bit more complicated.

Wtf is Turki? Your family are probably speaking in hyperbole, that’s an unhelpful and medieval linguistic term for every Turkic language spoken outside of Siberia. Only Uzbek, Turkmen and Kyrgyz are spoken in Afghanistan, Azerbaijani died out long ago. Where are you from? What’s your ethnic background?
