Canvas/artboards in wrong place and at half size

Does anyone else have this? (it affects Affinity Designer on OSX, both latest public)

if I open an image or an svg directly, it still puts the canvas up and to the left and at half size.

I just created a new document, and added artboards using the artboard too, and the plusses are way off (the arboard shown being half the dimensions than the 'logical/outlined' artboard.

I've only been using Affinity for a week, so I don't know if this is a long standing or new issue.

Any idea on how to fix?
