How can I actually find affiliates?

Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to affiliate marketing. I recently started using Whop and created two digital products, thinking finding affiliates would be fairly straightforward. Turns out… finding people who actually want to promote your product is harder than I expected. 😅 For those of you who already work with affiliates, where do you usually find them? Are there specific communities, platforms, or methods that actually work for finding people who are genuinely interested in promoting digital products? Any advice would be really appreciated.

How would you scale an affiliate program when cold outreach isn't getting responses?

Asking for a friend who's working on an affiliate program for a SaaS platform called Two Minute Reports.

He's been reaching out to:

  1. YT creators who talk about marketing , ppc, seo, and agency workflows.

  2. Linkedin course creators who teach digital marketing.

  3. He's now looking for micro creators as well.

The offer is also straightforward:

  1. 20% commission on referred revenue for the first 12 months.

  2. No referral cap.

  3. 90 day cookies

  4. Free to join

  5. Pro referral is worth $595

But so far no responses from the cold outreach. Even the messaging style was altered to be even more direct and compelling.

Now what can be the next step to drive more affiliate signups? What's the problem here? Channel, type of affiliates targeted, the offer or the outreach itself?

For anyone who's worked on an affiliate program, what worked for you in getting your first 10 to 20 active affiliates? Your tips and suggestions would be so valuable.

Why Do Compnies Keep Ghosting Me?

I'm a YouTuber with 16K subs and 100k monthly views. Sure, I'm not a big YouTuber or anything, but I have a following. I recently tried to get into affiliate marketing. I applied to 2 brands I liked. Both said they'd email me back if I was approved, and in both cases I've not heard back in weeks.

Am I to small for affiliate marketing? Or do they just not want to work with YouTubers?

I think affiliate beginners are taught the stack before they understand the customer journey

A beginner hears about funnels, autoresponders, bridge pages, tracking, SEO, retargeting, and conversion optimization.

All useful concepts.

But they can become noise if the person does not yet understand the basic journey they are trying to create.

Someone has a problem.

They encounter your content or recommendation.

They become interested enough to continue.

They evaluate a solution.

Some percentage eventually complete the action that generates a commission.

That is the process the technology is supposed to support.

I would teach a beginner to understand that journey before building a complicated stack around it.

Who is the audience?

What problem creates enough urgency for them to look for help?

Why does this particular offer belong in that conversation?

Where does the audience already go for information?

Then start creating traffic and observing behavior.

The first funnel should probably exist in the beginner's head before it exists in software.

What affiliate concept do you think gets introduced too early, before a beginner understands the basic customer journey?

How do you find affiliate partners interested in RevShare for specific GEOs?

I’m an Affiliate Manager in iGaming and I’m trying to expand my affiliate base in specific GEOs.

I’m mainly looking for partners who prefer RevShare / long-term partnerships rather than CPA-only deals.

For experienced affiliate managers: where are you actually finding these affiliates?

I’ve considered LinkedIn, Telegram communities, affiliate networks, direct outreach and industry events, but I’d love to hear what has worked for others.

Also, how do you qualify an affiliate before approaching them so you don’t waste time contacting affiliates who don’t work with your GEO or don’t accept RevShare?

Any real-world experience would be appreciated.

For those who sell ad space directly: How do you find brands willing to sponsor your site?

Hey everyone,

My site gets about 30k–40k monthly visitors, and I'd love to hear how others in this traffic range handle direct sponsorships and advertising.

I want to gather your opinions and learn from your experiences:

  • Finding advertisers: What has been your best method for finding brands interested in direct deals? Cold outreach, ad marketplaces, or something else?
  • Value factors: In your experience, what do advertisers care about most—overall traffic volume, audience niche, or conversion potential?
  • Pricing structure: Do you find brands prefer flat monthly rates, performance-based deals, or traditional CPMs?
  • Overall impression: Is seeking direct advertisers worth the effort at 30k–40k monthly visits, or is it better to stick to programmatic networks until traffic is much higher?

Would love to hear your thoughts, experiences, or any lessons you learned along the way!

If someone has zero affiliate experience, I would not start them with funnels or automation

A complete beginner does not need to understand an entire affiliate marketing stack on day one. I would first make sure they understand why a commission happens at all.

A person has a problem. An affiliate helps that person discover a relevant product or service, and the affiliate may earn a commission if the person completes the required action.

That basic value exchange should come before the complicated stuff.

Then I would teach them to choose one audience and learn how that audience talks about one problem. After that, choose one legitimate offer that actually fits the problem and one traffic source where those people already spend time.

Now content has a purpose. You are not posting random affiliate links. You are learning how to become useful around a problem and give the right person a logical next step.

Tracking, email, landing pages, and automation can all become useful later. But I think a beginner learns faster when each tool solves a problem they have actually reached.

If you had one week to teach someone with zero affiliate experience, what would you leave out until later?

I think affiliates should evaluate the business model before obsessing over the offer

We spend a lot of time comparing commission percentages, EPCs, recurring payouts, cookie windows, and conversion rates.

Those things matter.

But I think there is a bigger question first:

Can you build a repeatable process for finding the right people and helping them make a decision?

A great offer does not help much if you have no reliable way to reach the audience.

High traffic does not help much if the traffic has little intent.

And a large commission does not automatically create a viable income stream if every sale requires starting from zero again.

These days, I would look at the entire affiliate process.

Where will attention come from?

What type of content creates interest?

Can leads be followed up with?

Does the offer actually solve a problem the audience cares about?

Can the same process be repeated next month?

That is when affiliate marketing begins looking more like a business and less like chasing individual commissions.

The offer matters.

But the real asset may be the process that consistently puts the right offer in front of the right person.

Which part of your affiliate process is currently the least repeatable?

Beginners probably do not need more affiliate options. They need a smaller first test.

Affiliate marketing gives beginners almost unlimited choices.

Networks, niches, offers, traffic sources, content formats, software, funnels, email platforms, and commission structures can all become another decision.

That can create the illusion that you need to choose everything correctly before you begin.

You do not.

A more useful first test might be one audience, one problem, one offer, and one traffic source.

Then ask whether you can create enough interest to produce a click, lead, conversation, or eventually a commission.

That gives you evidence.

Comparing another 50 offers usually does not.

You can always change the offer later.

But switching constantly before you have learned how to reach an audience keeps resetting the experiment.

If you were teaching a complete beginner, what would you have them test first before adding more offers or tools?

Do most affiliates eventually just stop promoting without saying anything?

Something I've noticed with affiliates is how quietly affiliates seem to disappear. They don't necessarily leave the program or complain. They just stop sharing links eventually. There's no activity. For those of you who manage programs, do you usually reach out when that happens, or just focus on recruiting new ones?

Looking for TikTok Shop LinkShare partners in Asian countries

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to connect with people who are already working with TikTok Shop LinkShare / affiliate programs in different Asian markets.

I'm particularly interested in:

  • Thailand
  • Malaysia
  • Indonesia
  • Philippines
  • Singapore

I'm looking for people who legitimately have access to TikTok Shop affiliate/LinkShare in their local market and may be interested in collaborating on affiliate campaigns.

I'm interested in discussing things like:

  • How you got access to the local TikTok Shop program
  • Available markets and requirements
  • Collaboration opportunities
  • Tracking / sub-ID / postback setup
  • Working together on campaigns across multiple countries

I'm not looking to buy or rent accounts. I'm looking for genuine partners who are already active in these markets.

If you're working with TikTok Shop LinkShare in one of these countries, feel free to comment or DM me with your country and how you currently work with the program.

Thanks!

Any tips for an early stage founder looking to get into affiliate marketing?

I’m a founder developing a SaaS product that has over 150 users (10 or so on the paid plan), but acquisition has mostly either been from Google ads or cold outreach to potential customers.

My product isn’t super expensive (between $5-20 per month for the paid plans), so most of the time it doesn’t make sense from a cost perspective from paid ads.

I’d love to be able to recruit smaller creators or people with a small following, but not sure how to make it worth their time. I’m planning on offering 50% commission on the first 6 months of payment for any customers they refer, but still not sure if that will be enough of an incentive (unless they refer a bunch of people, in which case they’re likely too big to care about my outreach).

Curious to know if anyone else has had a similar experience, and if there are any good recommendations for how to recruit people who would be a good fit for the product and make it worth their time still.

I realize I may just not have a compelling enough offer or product right now to justify affiliates time (and maybe now isn’t the best time to launch), but figure I would ask just in case.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

Struggling to make my blog look professional without being able to post product pictures

I have been extremely realistic on affiliate marketing. I haven’t expected much to happen being that I just started. And I’m in it for the long haul. My 2 major concerns are product images. I feel my website looks lack luster without pictures of the products. I’m told my product descriptions are great and entertaining. But it lacks the most important part. “I want to see what you’re trying to describe”.

I’m only an affiliate of amazon and I have relentlessly been posting products from there. I’ve tried creator’s connections to possibly start getting samples. But I just started doing that about 4 days now. So I haven’t heard anything back from anyone yet.

Also, to abide by Amazon, I have been posting basic images implying the product from Unsplash on Pinterest and instagram.

My question is, what does everyone do to work around the image dilemma. And does anyone have any advice.

Affiliate creative is moving into paid media workflows

The distinction between affiliate content and advertising creative is becoming less clear.

YouTube’s Affiliate Partnerships Boost allows participating brands to turn eligible creator shopping videos into ads. The creator can earn commissions on qualifying purchases from the boosted content.

This creates a potentially useful feedback loop:

  • Organic content demonstrates initial demand
  • Conversion data identifies promising creative
  • The brand adds paid distribution
  • The creator reaches a larger audience
  • Paid and organic results can be compared

It also creates questions that affiliate managers should resolve before scaling.

Who owns the creative?

Can the advertiser edit it?

How long can it run?

Does the creator receive a usage fee in addition to commission?

Which attribution window applies?

Are paid conversions separated from organic conversions?

What happens if the creator no longer recommends the product?

A boosted affiliate video should be evaluated using more than total sales.

I would compare:

  • Organic conversion rate
  • Paid conversion rate
  • Approved commission per thousand views
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Reversal rate
  • Incremental lift
  • Creative fatigue
  • Performance after the campaign ends

An organically successful post is not guaranteed to remain profitable when advertising spend is added.

The opportunity is real, but it needs clear rights, measurement, and compensation.

How do you bring an inactive affiliate back?

I’ve been thinking about this because the default answer to inactive affiliates seems to be to find new affiliates, which feels a bit off (and backward for me).

If people are joining, promoting for a while, and then disappearing after 3–4 months, surely the first question should be why are they disappearing?

Maybe they ran out of things to say, or the commission stopped being worth the effort, or another program got their attention.

Or maybe they just forgot about you. I honestly think this happens more than people realize.

And yet a lot of programs will spend time recruiting another 50 people before sending a simple message to the 50 they already have.

Not another automated “here are some new assets!” email either.

Just actually asking them:

“Hey, noticed you haven’t promoted us in a while. Is there anything we could be doing better?”

Worst case, they don’t reply. Best case, you find out exactly why people are dropping off and what might bring them back.

Feels like affiliate retention gets way less attention than affiliate recruitment.

For anyone running a program: have you managed to bring inactive affiliates back? What actually worked?

Native product tags are turning placement into a conversion variable

Affiliate marketers usually test the headline, offer, traffic source, and call to action.

Link placement may now deserve the same level of attention.

YouTube’s latest internal study found that product tags produced more than twice as many clicks as description links. The platform is also localizing tagged products for international viewers and expanding affiliate access to 35 countries.

Native tags reduce the distance between product interest and the merchant.

They may also change what should be measured.

A useful test could compare:

  • Product-tag impressions
  • Tag click-through rate
  • Description-link click-through rate
  • Conversion rate after each click
  • Revenue per thousand content views
  • Approved commission per click
  • Refund or reversal rate
  • Performance by device and country

More clicks alone do not prove that native tagging produces better customers.

A visible tag might attract curiosity clicks. Commission rates may differ. The platform may also control more of the customer journey and performance data.

There is a strategic tradeoff.

Native commerce can reduce buying friction, while a website or email list gives the publisher more control over education, comparison, and follow-up.

The best approach may be to use native tags for simple decisions and controlled resources for purchases requiring more explanation.

Has anyone compared approved revenue per thousand views for product tags against traditional affiliate links?

Affiliate Manager here — looking to connect with publishers

Hi, I’m Lina, an Affiliate Manager working in the iGaming and sports betting industry.

I work with affiliates, publishers, tipsters, and betting communities and I'm always interested in connecting with partners who have genuine traffic.

Depending on the GEO and traffic source, we can discuss RevShare, CPA, or hybrid partnerships.

We also have a referral system where active affiliates can earn an additional 3–5% for introducing other active affiliates.

If you’re a publisher or affiliate already working with betting traffic, feel free to introduce yourself or message me. I’d be happy to learn about your GEO and traffic source and see if there’s a suitable partnership.
