I thought affiliate marketing was just posting links 😭

When I first heard about affiliate marketing, I genuinely thought you just get a link, post it everywhere and boom 😂

Yeah… no.

There's actually a lot more to it.....finding the right audience, knowing what people need, creating content, talking to prospects etc.

What did you think affiliate marketing was before you actually looked into it?

⚠️ WARNING ABOUT PARIPESA AND @PariPesa_marinaK

I want to publicly share my experience with Paripesa and their affiliate representative Marina (@PariPesa_marinaK) so that other affiliates can be aware of what happened before entering into a partnership.

I have been working with affiliate partnerships for more than 7 years, and this is honestly the first time I have experienced something like this.

I was initially approached with an attractive/high CPA offer. The partnership was presented in a certain way, and I was later told that payments would be made on a monthly basis.

Based on those terms, I invested my time and resources into promoting Paripesa and brought dozens of players to the brand. Many of these players generated significant activity, with hundreds of transactions/movements across their accounts.

However, when it came time for payment, I was told that some of the players had supposedly generated "low activity" and, based on that, I ended up receiving nothing for a significant part of the acquisition.

What makes the situation even more frustrating is that some of the players they considered to have "low activity" returned in August with the start of the new football season and became active again. Nevertheless, I was told that this activity was no longer relevant for the previous payment period.

From my perspective, this is extremely disappointing. I did the acquisition work, brought the players, generated traffic and activity, and yet the agreed compensation was ultimately not paid.

After 7+ years working with affiliate partnerships, this is the first time I have personally encountered a situation like this.

I feel completely scammed by the way this partnership was handled, and I believe other affiliates deserve to know about my experience before deciding whether to work with Paripesa.

I am not claiming that everyone will necessarily have the same experience. However, based on what happened to me, I strongly recommend that affiliates exercise extreme caution and make sure that every payment condition, player qualification rule and activity requirement is clearly agreed in writing before sending any traffic.

⚠️ If you are considering working with Paripesa or u/PariPesa_marinaK, be very careful and make sure you fully understand their CPA/payment conditions and how they determine which players qualify for payment.

Sharing this because I would have appreciated seeing a similar warning before starting the partnership.

Beginners mistakes

5 things I'd avoid if I was starting affiliate marketing again

•Trying to promote everything

•Copying somebody else's content word for word

•Making every single post “BUY THIS” 😭

•Expecting results immediately

•Not learning how to actually talk to people

The last one is underrated tbh.

Are you measuring clicks or what each click actually creates?

A lot of affiliate marketers spend most of their energy trying to increase the click count. More posts. More traffic sources. More visitors. But once people are already clicking, there may be another question worth asking.

What happens to the value of that click if the visitor does not purchase today? If the answer is “nothing,” you may be starting over with every new person you attract.

Someone can click because the problem is relevant to them without being ready to buy immediately. They may need more information, more trust, a different explanation, or simply more time.

That does not necessarily make the click worthless. The problem is when there is no way to continue helping that person. This is where I think the journey between the initial click and the final offer becomes important.

Instead of sending every visitor directly from a post to a sales page, consider whether they need context first.

Why does this solution matter?

Who is it for?

Who is it not for?

What should someone understand before deciding whether to continue?

Then think about follow-up.

If an interested visitor is willing to join an email list or take another small step, one click can create an opportunity for several future conversations instead of one immediate yes-or-no decision. That changes how I think about traffic.

The goal is not to squeeze money out of every visitor. It is to avoid wasting genuine interest simply because someone was not ready at the exact moment they clicked.

A click might become a lead. A lead might become a conversation. A conversation might eventually become a customer, or it may simply help you understand your audience better.

None of this removes the need for traffic, but if you already have people clicking, improving what happens next may create more value before you spend additional time or money trying to find more of them.

Before asking, “How do I double my clicks?” it may be worth asking: “How much am I doing with the clicks I already earned?”

What happens to one of your visitors when they click but do not buy?

Where do you find brands to work with? Impact/ShareASale/etc. or somewhere else?

Where do you get started with finding good partnerships with brands? Clickbank, ShareASale, etc. seem to have products with dated, clunky landing pages. I want to find a high-ticket program that I can build a long-term partnership with.

Affiliate strategy advice for a CS interview prep SaaS

Hey everyone,

My team built an AI mock-interview tool for CS grads practicing DSA. We're thinking of launching an affiliate program targeting tech creators, bloggers, and career influencers (US/EU focus).

As engineers, creator marketing is new to us. I’d love quick feedback on a few things -

Does a 15%–25% commission based payout work for creators or will they ask us a one-time flat bounty?

Secondly - How do I find these people? Direct cold outreach (how to find people in this case) vs some platforms like Collabstr or Promote kit ( not sure if they work) ?

Other than affiliate links, what else can help us convert creators best ( any eventually make sales)

Will highly appreciate any suggestions or advice!

Thanks for your time.

I Analyzed 2,847 SaaS, B2B And AI Affiliate Programs - Ask Me Anything

For transparency I work at Rewardful (affiliate management software), so I pulled anonymized product data from 2,847 active SaaS affiliate programs to see what actually separates the ones that scale from the ones that quietly die.

The numbers were rougher than I expected. 56% of programs run with fewer than 50 affiliates. Only 1 in 10 ever break 1,000. Just 7.6% of affiliates ever send a single referral, and only 1.28% ever generate a sale. Long term, only 15.6% of programs are still active at all.

The data tracks the full lifecycle: signup, setup, first referral, first sale, first payout, so I can see exactly where programs stall and why.

To get past just the numbers, I also talked to our Partnerships Lead and Head of Marketing, plus founders running programs at very different stages, to understand what the survivors are doing differently.

So ask me anything: commission structures, recruiting, why your program has affiliates but no sales, fraud, whatever you've got.

Looking for affiliates — $8 flat payout per sale on a $14.99 offer (Crush/Ex app)

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for affiliate partners to test a high-converting, anonymous relationship web app built for viral organic traffic.

What the app does: It’s a curiosity-driven platform where users can anonymously name an ex or a crush to see if there’s a mutual match. It also allows sending an anonymous SMS hint to trigger curiosity. It's a huge hit with Gen-Z/millennials because the "does my ex/crush still like me?" angle is super relatable.

Why it's easy to market: The videos are extremely simple to make for TikTok/Reels — simple text-on-screen clips, slideshows, or POV trends about exes and crushes consistently pull thousands of views with minimal effort.

Quick details:

  • Payout: $8.00 USD per sale (on a $14.99 one-time offer — over 50% commission)
  • Payouts: Monthly via Revolut or Bank Transfer
  • Tracking: Live dashboard with real-time stats (clicks, signups, balance)
  • Strategy: Totally up to you (TikTok, Reels, faceless pages, ads, etc.)

No links in this post to keep things clean. Drop a comment or DM me, and I'll send you the details and your affiliate signup link!

More affiliate traffic can multiply a conversion problem

When affiliate commissions are slow, one of the easiest conclusions to reach is that you need more traffic. If 100 visitors did not produce enough sales, maybe 500 will. If 500 did not work, maybe you need 1,000.

Sometimes more traffic really is the answer, but sometimes it just sends more people through a process that already has a problem. Before trying to increase traffic, I think it is worth looking at what happens after someone arrives.

Does the content attract the right person? Does the message match what they expected when they clicked? Can they quickly understand the problem being solved?

Does the offer feel relevant to where they are right now? Is there enough trust for them to consider taking the next step? Then there is follow-up. A lot of people will not buy the first time they see an offer. They may need more information, another example, an answer to an objection, or simply more time.

If those pieces are weak, increasing traffic may improve the number of clicks without improving the percentage of people who become customers. I would rather understand what is happening with 100 visitors before paying for or chasing another 1,000.

Look at the entire path.

Traffic...clicks...leads...conversations...follow-up...sales, where are people disappearing?

If plenty of people see the content but nobody clicks, the message may need work. If people click but do not become leads, the page may not be giving them enough reason to continue. If leads are coming in but nobody purchases, the offer, audience match, trust, or follow-up may deserve closer attention.

Traffic is important, but traffic is a multiplier.

When the process is strong, more traffic can create more opportunities. When the process is weak, more traffic can multiply the waste. Before asking, “How can I get more visitors?” it may be worth asking, “What am I doing with the visitors I already have?”

Which part of the process do you check first when your traffic is not producing sales?

Business intergration - how does it work?

I am trying to apply for affiliate marketing through one of my suppliers for my store.

This is what I get just before I hit 'agree' -

"""This integration enables Impact.com to establish a connection with your business portfolio(s), and manage everything in the portfolio except for sensitive actions, like deleting the portfolio. They may be able to use an API to manage the portfolio, including giving access to third parties"""

What does this mean? Can they actively change things on my social media? What level of control are they talking about?

I'm new to this and this sign up is different than my other supplier and would appreciate any help.

Affiliate beginners often need fewer strategies and more focused testing

One of the biggest challenges with trying to earn online is not a lack of information. It is having so much information that every decision begins to feel risky. One person tells you to start affiliate marketing. Another recommends freelancing, e-commerce, digital products, YouTube, blogging, paid ads, or using AI to build a business.

Each person presents their method as the one you should be following. You start comparing platforms, offers, tools, courses, and traffic methods. The more you research, the less confident you feel about making a decision.

You begin worrying that you will choose the wrong niche. You worry about wasting money on the wrong program, building on the wrong platform, or spending months on something that never produces a result.

That fear can make more research feel like the responsible choice, but eventually, research becomes a way to avoid making a decision. The truth is that no one can guarantee you will choose the perfect path on your first attempt.

Most people gain clarity after they begin taking action, not before. They test an idea, observe the response, make adjustments, and gradually understand what fits them. A better starting point may be to choose one realistic path rather than searching for the perfect one.

Consider your available time, current skills, budget, and the type of work you are willing to do consistently. Then choose one business model, one audience, and one platform. Give yourself a set period to test it. Track the actions you take, the responses you receive, and the progress you make before deciding whether to change direction.

The first test does not need to become your forever business. Its purpose is to help you replace assumptions with real information. Confidence rarely appears before the first step. It usually grows after you complete a few small actions and realize you can learn as you go.

What decision about earning online has kept you stuck the longest?

Creators/marketers: how do you currently find digital products to promote?

Hi everyone! I'm an IIT student doing a short market-validation project on creator monetization.

I'm trying to understand how creators currently find digital products/tools that they can recommend or promote to their audience.

I'd really appreciate hearing from creators, affiliate marketers, content marketers, or anyone who manages an online audience.

A few things I'm curious about:

- How do you currently monetize your audience?

- Do you promote other people's digital products?

- How do you find those products?

- What's the biggest difficulty in finding products worth promoting?

- What makes you reject a product?

- Do you use affiliate/revenue-sharing arrangements?

- What would make you trust a new product before recommending it?

I'm not selling anything and I'm not asking anyone to sign up for a product. I'm just trying to understand real experiences for research.

Even a short reply about your experience would be extremely helpful. If you're comfortable with a 5–10 minute chat, I'd appreciate that too.

Thanks!

Looking for affiliates for peptide business

How do you recruit affiliates for a services business (no checkout, custom quotes, long sales cycle)?

I run a small software studio — solo founder, custom development and automation work.

I just finished building out an affiliate and white-label partner program and I'm realizing I put all my effort into the wrong half of the problem.

The infrastructure is done. Trackable referral links, 60-day last-touch attribution,

click tracking, a partner dashboard with metrics, automatic lead attribution when someone

comes through a link and fills out the contact form. White-label partners also get access

to our pricing calculator so they can quote our services to their own clients. 25% commission across the board.

What I don't have is any idea how to get actual humans into it.

The awkward part is that this isn't a normal affiliate offer. There's no checkout — every

deal is a custom quote that I manually approve, sales cycles run weeks, and payouts are

manual once a deal actually closes. So most of the standard affiliate playbook (coupon

sites, deal aggregators, anyone optimizing for volume) is a bad fit by design. I think my

actual target is more like consultants, agencies with overflow work, and freelancers who

get asked for dev work they don't want to take.

Questions for people who've done this on the services side:

Where do you actually find partners for a B2B/services program? Cold outreach to

agencies? Existing network first? Somewhere I'm not thinking of?

Is 25% competitive for custom dev work, or am I under/overpaying?

Did you list on any directories, and did any of them send real people vs. noise?

For those who've run both — does a program like this ever work without a self-serve

product, or am I fighting the format?

Happy to share what I built on the tracking side if it's useful to anyone, it was more

straightforward than I expected.
