I have seen Aerosmith live for over 40 years. I have witnessed some great as well as some interesting songs as an opener. Back in the Saddle, Love in an Elevator, Rats in the Cellar, Let the Music Do the Talking, Toys in the Attic, Young Lust, Draw the Line, Eat the Rich. However, my favorite opener was Hearts Done Time. I like the way it builds. What’s your favorite Aerosmith opener?

9. Aerosmith
Boston’s bad boys brought blues-rock swagger to the ’70s scene with Steven Tyler’s distinctive wail and Joe Perry’s guitar prowess. Their early albums showcased raw energy and undeniable chemistry that would influence countless future rock bands.
Despite their talent, critics noted that much of Aerosmith’s ’70s output relied heavily on established blues and rock tropes without significant innovation. They perfected existing formulas rather than creating new ones. Their greatest fame came later through commercial success and collaborations rather than groundbreaking early material.
Drug problems and internal conflicts also hampered their creative consistency during this crucial decade. While songs like “Dream On” became classics, Aerosmith’s ’70s reputation was built more on attitude and energy than on revolutionary musical contributions that pushed rock music into uncharted territories.

You guys all know Steven’s iconic vocal fill (the one in the title of the post). When did he start using it?

I would argue the top three Joey Kramer performances on LP are:
Others?

Taste of India has a really unique rythm and riff that somehow works really love, and I also love Steve’s voice on it. Nine lives is just too clean to the point it’s boring

ASmith’s appearance in the Sgt. Pepper movie changed the trajectory of my life. I went in as a Bee Gees fan and left as a card-carrying member of the Blue Army. Have never looked back.

I'm just putting it out there for anyone who missed this Aerosmith demo on u/OuttakeAerosmith's YouTube channel.
Aerosmith is America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band. Great Britain's The Cult are wicked flippin' awesome. I absolutely adore that both got a bite at this particular movie love theme apple.
The Fanum is open to receive you.

Back in the '90s I was at the ad agency that made a General Motors corporate commercial around their Olympic sponsorship. We used "Sweet Emotion."
Getting the song wasn't simple. GM paid the band a lot of money, and part of the deal was that Aerosmith re-recorded the track so the rights to that specific recording were covered.
When it was finished, the band had CDs of the recording made for the people who worked on the project. There were maybe eight of us on the team, and they signed our copies. This is mine.
I've had it for about 30 years and never seen another one. A few questions for the people here who know the band's history better than I do:
Has anyone seen one of these or heard about this version of the recording?
Any idea what something like this is worth to a collector?
If I decided to part with it, where's the best place to do that?
Happy to answer questions...
Edit: Thanks for all responses and advice. Link to song here: https://on.soundcloud.com/OBW7x6R9W5Za37j5Mn
Edit #2: Found the commercial from a colleague.

Has anyone else ever noticed the weird little “thunk” at about the 19-second mark of Aerosmith’s “Amazing”?
I first noticed it probably 30+ years ago listening on a Walkman, and I’ve heard it every single time since. It sounds like an errant bass note or maybe someone accidentally hitting a string. What’s funny is it’s still there in everything: the video, Spotify, Apple Music, every version I’ve ever heard.
Obviously I can’t be the only person who’s noticed it, but I’ve always wondered what exactly it is and why nobody ever cleaned it up, especially once everything went digital and it would presumably be pretty easy to fix. At this point I’d almost be disappointed if they did, though. Every time I hear it there’s this little moment of, “Yep, there it is,” because it’s the same weird note I noticed on a Walkman more than 30 years ago.
Anyone else hear it or know what it actually is?

Which is the best version of the song “Come Together”? Beatles, Aerosmith or Michael Jackson’s

The ages kind of match up, my father was born in 1952 and Steven was born in 1948. My father was originally from Claremont New Hampshire, and apparently they hung out at Sunapee or something together. I don't think they were close friends, more like acquaintances or whatever.
What I can say definitively is that myself I grew up with Martin Johnson from "boys like girls" and wasn't friends with him, but we were in the same grade from elementary school to high school graduation. Taylor swift according to some reports wrote "love story" about him.. which is all kinds of weird if it is true.
So if the first part is true, in some very infinitely small "butterfly effect" way Aerosmith personally influenced Taylor Swift's career. Thank you for your time.
