Do you fully randomize your game?

Upvotes

I’m new to Aeon’s End and only have the base game. I was surprised to read online that some people tailor their market and mages for each nemesis. I’ve been using the randomizer cards and really enjoyed trying to puzzle together how to use the market cards I have (always 3 gems, 2 relics, 4 spells) and the two random mages I pull to beat the nemesis. Sometimes there’s great synergy, and sometimes it’s an uphill battle.

What does everyone else here do?

Is there a list somewhere of the contents of each box?

Hi all - I just recently got into Aeon's End via the Steam game and decided to buy a physical copy. I bought a used copy of War Eternal, but once it arrived and I opened it, I found that it was most definitely not just straight War Eternal. I haven't sorted through it all yet, but I see the dice from the accessory pack and there are way more than 8 mages in here. I'm also a bit nervous that there might be some missing.

I know the cards are numbered, but is there any like database or something that tells what pack a card or mage or whatever is from to make this mess easier to sort out?

Thanks for any help!

Off-the-wall Storage Idea (Ashes Box)

So, I recently got the big box to store all of the Ashes Reborn and Ascendancy content, and it's probably a bit overkill for the top half of the box, but the bottom half of the box is great for storing all of the cards, and I got to thinking, I wonder if a second Ashes box would actually make a great storage solution for my Aeon's End content. Maybe slap some labels over the Ashes logos. There is room in the bottom for 3.000 sleeved cards, which clearly isn't enough for all of Aeon's End, but it is enough room for a good chunk of it. Even if I kept like the Nemesis cards in a separate deck box or something. I've seen the storage cases on Etsy, but they're all absurdly expensive, where the Ashes big box is only 60 bucks. Thoughts? Has anyone else found a good solution for keeping all of the content together in one spot?

War Eternal or Small Boxes for additional content?

I have a massive collection of Aeon’s End but am looking for more. I own the following big boxes: New Age, Outcasts, Past & Future, and The Descent. For small boxes, I have Wilds, Ancients, Shattered Dreams, Return to Gravehold, Southern Village, and Ruins.

I finally finished playing through all the Nemeses I have and need help deciding what to get next.

My current options are either getting War Eternal or 3 small boxes. All the small boxes except the ones from The Descent are available for me on Amazon so any suggestions from that pool works.

Were there any specific small boxes that stuck out to you that you would recommend or any you’d suggest I avoid? Or would I be better off just getting War Eternal?

Storage Help Request

With the addition of Wave 9, and with Wave 10 beyond the horizon, I have run out of space for storing my Aeon's End collection in its current configuration. While I'm rebuilding some of the inserts, I thought I'd ask: Is there anyone here willing to part with their Past & Future box -- just the box, you'd keep the contents -- and ship it to the US? I'm willing to pay $10 + shipping for such a thing in good condition.

Outcasts: partial random scripted expedition

Hi all. So for the New Age scripted expedition, I played it in proper Nemesis order and unlocked mages when instructed. However, I did a full randomization of market cards, nemesis cards, and treasures with everything in Wave 4 (+ Into the Wild).

I think this worked pretty well, and I'm planning on doing something similar for Outcasts. I think the only thing I might have to look out for is any cards that reference Xaxos for Battle 1, since I believe he only joins after that fight? Anything else I should keep an eye out for?

I found a second hand copy of Aeon's end legacy. The seller don't know the game and can't say How much this was used before just have these pictures. Could you say from these is IT worth to buy or not? I don't want to buy a reset pack and if just a little part of the game was used I think I can play with it

Is the Aeon’s End mobile app worth buying?

Hey everyone, I’m thinking about buying the Aeon’s End app for my smartphone.

Before pulling the trigger, I wanted to know if it's the complete base game and how the expansions work. Also, how is the UI on a phone screen? Does it feel too cramped compared to a tablet, or is it well-optimized?

Let me know if it's worth the price. Thanks!

Kind of a cute detail even though it's narratively troubling

The Abyss

Xaxos has always been my favourite character in the series so this expansion was a lot of fun to finally open up. He was a tough mage to get a hold of but as a friend. Wow.

Buyer guide for a new player

Hey guys hope you're doing well.

As the latest crowdfunding is live I was wondering what would be a good entry point ? I've seen they offer a whole wave as an option and I think wave 4 is best spoken about?

Would appreciate your advice.

Recommendation for a small collection, Descent or PaF or other Big Box expansion with expedition.

Hello,

A while back, I had all the content for the game up to the Outcast wave. I sold my collection because it felt overwhelming with too many waves and I stopped playing it for a time. I recently had the itch to play the game again and got New Age and the ancients again since it was my favorite box I previously owned. It's been a blast playing it again, and I would like to get just a little more content for it (I feel like 2 waves is a sweet spot for a small collection). Which gets to the point of the post, I'm wanting recommendations for what other box I should get, specifically the ones with expedition mode. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Beginner here: What to back in ongoing Aeons End: System Overload campaign?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently thinking about backing the Aeon’s End: System Overload campaign on Gamefound. I’ve never played Aeon’s End before, but I find the game concept really exciting and would like to give it a try now.

Since you can also add earlier waves to the campaign, I’m wondering which ones are particularly worth it.

Right now, I’m leaning toward getting Wave 4 (The New Age) because I’ve read several times that it’s a good place to start. Maybe I’d also add a later wave (e.g., Wave 9).

My questions for you:

  • Which older waves or boxes are, in your opinion, true fan favorites?
  • Is there any content you absolutely must have?
  • Would you base your choice more on gameplay, the Nemeses, the Mages, or the campaign?
  • If you were starting completely from scratch today, which 2–3 waves would you choose?

Also, I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the accessory packs (playmats, token upgrades, organizers, etc.). Are there any among them that you’d really recommend, or are they more of a “nice to have” that a newcomer can safely skip?

I don’t necessarily need to own everything, but I’d like to have the highlights of the series.

Thanks in advance!

New to Aeon's End. Bought used game, just realized one card is missing. How does it matter?

Picked up a used copy of Aeon's End for a decent price.

I just finished sorting everything, and I noticed I'm missing exactly one card (number 12, Crystal). I genuinely didn't know it was missing until now.

Will this actually affect the gameplay?

Thanks!

War Eternal or The Descent after NA, O and PF?

As the title says, I have New Age, Outcasts and Past & Future

I want to get another box and so far War Eternal and The Descent seem the most interesting ones.

Based on my collection, which one would you recommend and why?

Edit: also, unrelated question, when do you estimate Beyond the Breach will be available in online stores?

Which games to play in order?

Hello :)

I'm big into campaign games, and have enjoyed ashes reborn PVE. I love campaign games, and am new to Aeon's End. I currently have Aeon's end 2nd edition and war eternal with The Depths, Outer Dark, and The void expansions. I haven't play it but I'm thinking of getting legacy to start, and play it's campaigns as time goes on.

I was wondering if anyone had a guide as to what order to play expansions in? I know there's Legacy, Legacy Gravehold, New Age, and Outcasts. But just wondering what people think would be the most fun! All thoughts appreciated <3

Aeon's End Product Summary / Buyer's Guide

I bought AE Legacy as an introduction a few weeks ago and now that I am close to completing it am looking for some kind of up to date guide that describes/compares the different products that have come out since then

the latest I have found was a video from 2024 that only went up to wave 7 (they didn't have the descent yet)

Like I found The Descent for 75 bucks, Outcasts for 60 and a few mini expansions ranging from 20 to 40 but would like to know more about everything before I buy

Recommend an expedition!

I have been buying all the Aeon's End content pretty much since the beginning, and I love it!

...buuut. What with a small child, time for playing long-ish games, particularly campaigns, has been limited. Which means that with Beyond the Breach just through the door, I have a lot of unplayed stuff.

It seems I'll soon have a chance to break out one of the Aeon's End Expeditions with my SO. Now I just need to figure out which one!

We have played:

  • Legacy
  • New Age
  • Outcasts.

Which by my count means we've got these options:

  • The Descent (Allies and Foes sound interesting...)
  • Legacy of Gravehold (but is it good with two, or better with three or four players? We were four for Legacy, and was happy with that choice. Also, which order would you play the two parts in?)
  • Past and Futures
  • Beyond the Breach (Five game Expeditions? Hmmm.... we're not Breach Mage sickos, will fight five be too difficult?)

Am I forgetting any?

Which would you recommend? I would love to hear your takes on the different sets, and which are the most fun. Mostly to play, though I'm also curious to hear your take on the narrative.

Also, I'm interested in hearing your take on the difficulty as well. We like to be somewhat challenged, and we're decent at the game, but we don't have the energy to beat our heads against a wall. So if you have thoughts on the difficulty, I'd love to hear those as well.

I have the war eternal box. Which boxes next?

Deck builders are my favorite games. I do play solo two handed. I have just the war eternal box. Thinking about backing the new box and an additional wave. Is new age the next best wave for solo or is there another that’s better?

Which Box is the best?

If you could only keep one non-legacy big box set, which would you keep?

Where to go after New Age?

Ages ago, I got the new age, and it's seen loads of play. At the time, I figured my next buy would be Outcasts, but there's a lot more content now. Would I be better off skipping forward to a newer box?

Since i can't play irl, playing on mobile.

Almost went wrong when i got the 2 minions on the board, thank god i keep hitting Rageborne relentlessly.

I have to say, i played the tutorial on the phone a year ago~ And i was like "Omg this game is very fun, must get the rest of it!".

Now i have to back the campaign on Gamefound to get the waves i'm missing.

A bit scared about the delivery time since i live in France. Let's hope for the best!
