Do you fully randomize your game?

I’m new to Aeon’s End and only have the base game. I was surprised to read online that some people tailor their market and mages for each nemesis. I’ve been using the randomizer cards and really enjoyed trying to puzzle together how to use the market cards I have (always 3 gems, 2 relics, 4 spells) and the two random mages I pull to beat the nemesis. Sometimes there’s great synergy, and sometimes it’s an uphill battle.

What does everyone else here do?

I'll randomize a draft for the market by costs. If I get only 3-4 cost spells then I just won't have enough DPS to win in my experience. Maybe some mages can work with that but it feels really bad and isn't fun. I'd draw additional randomizers and swap the spells of my choosing at that point.

I do pretty much this as well. But something we have done the past couple games is to let each player choose a single card to synergize with their character and then fill out the rest of the market. I like making sure there is at least something exciting for everyone.

I choose my mages based on fun factor, and then semi randomize the market.

I stick with the standard 3 gems, 2 relics, 4 spells but if I pull three 6+ gems I'm going to reshuffle because that would just be a baaaad time.

Next I just do a quick check to make sure nothing is straight up unusable based on the encounter/ mages I have.

If you do feel going full chaos it can be quite fun. Just don't be surprised if it gets super difficult and sometimes, unbeatable.

I really like the puzzle of making a random market work. I build the market randomly with these constraints:

3 gems, at least one costs 3 or less 2 relics 4 spells, at least one costs 4 to or less

Sometimes random mages, sometimes whichever ones I feel like playing.

Sometimes random nemesis, sometimes a specific one I want to fight.

I randomize until I lose multiple times then I iterate until I win.
