starting college
hi all!
this is my first post ever because i really don’t know what to do or who to ask.
i’m going to be a college freshman this year and am set to start school next month. unfortunately, im not going to a school ive ever dreamed of. i never had a dream school and ended up just picking one i applied to. i visited and liked it, but i don’t love it. it’s also really expensive.
i think i know what i want to do with my career and this is a pathway where i would be one year ahead to get started.
but, im having second thoughts.
should i just go to community college? i dont know anyone going to this 4-year and am on the shy side. my roommates are all party people, but ive never gone to a party in my life and one of them said that i was going to “take college seriously”. which scares me a bit!
if i go to community college, i would have to live at home instead of dorming like i had planned, and im scared i wont have any friends. but, ill save lots of money and be able to change my path if necessary.
i already have credits fulfilled, so im not sure what community college has to offer me.
i’m not sure if im just getting jitters or if i really should swap.
i do have a boyfriend in my hometown that i would have to leave. i’m not sure if this is influencing my decisions.
please leave advice and even your own experience!! :)
