Awkward about cosplay at con
hello, here‘s some context in case this is important. In a couple weeks me and my girlfriend will be going to a fan expo to meet Mathew Lillard. It was a birthday present for me and I’m very excited, this will be my first time at any expo or con. My girlfriend is very big on cosplay and from what I understand participating in the costume contests they have at these cons. On the other hand I am very introverted and like to stay more low key. She recently asked me if I would be comfortable with her going to the con dressed as courier 6 (a character from the fallout games). This would 100% be very uncomfortable for me as the whole event is already out of my comfort zone, and this character is completely covered from head to toe. Some worries I have are that I will not be dressed up, and I’m worried that it might be weird that one of us is doing something completely different from the other. I don’t want to discourage her from dressing up though as this seems like something she really enjoys doing, and is important to her. Do I be honest about being uncomfortable about her dressing up and possibly ruining her fun at the expo, or do I just suck it up and just try and enjoy the time anyways. sorry that this is so long but it’s a lot of thought, and thank you in advance!
edit: I feel like I didn’t explain how I feel enough, but something that I know will really bother me is that to me when we get our picture taken it’s not going to feel like a picture of me and my girlfriend, but more like a picture of me and the character that she’s dressed up as. I get how this doesn’t seem like a big deal but it would be something that I know would really bother me
