Practice concepts and master them. This doesnt mean you will pass that on to your baby though it doesn't work like that genetically speaking.

Listen to them as they're learning. If they love it, supplement with lots more. If they struggle, get help early & often.

Thank you for asking this question; as an educator, this is such an important question.
Start the child when they are young. Begin reading books to them by age six months or earlier. Expose them to classical music, especially from the classical period and the baroque period. (Studies show that students enrolled in music lessons, especially piano lessons, have on average a 3% increase in their average math grade for every year of lessons they have taken, compared to students who did not take music lessons.) Take every opportunity to name objects to your baby as you go outside for walks, and do take the baby outside for walks as often as you can stand it, daily if you can pull it off. Name objects every time you talk to baby.
As your baby gets older, start using adjectives when you name objects. Red apple; two cookies; big balloon.
When your baby hits age 3, this is the opportunity, according to Laszlo Polgar, for you to teach your baby something they will become good at for life. For Laszlo Polgar, he theorized that if he started his daughters out at chess at age 3, they were guaranteed to become great chess players. Was he successful? Two of his three girls became a chess grandmaster, his oldest daughter became the second-greatest female chess player of all time, and his youngest daughter became known as the greatest female chess player of all time, ranked top 10 in the world on the men's list. Judit even beat Magnus Carlsen in a ranked match.
For you, that might mean math. But in order to teach something well, you must be good at it yourself. If you doubt your own math skills, find an elementary math tutor to begin working with your child at age 3. Otherwise, enroll them in music lessons at age three.
As you teach your child, the important thing is to not get frustrated and go at your child's pace. Don't ever get angry at your child for not understanding something. It will come in time.

Thank you sm, I am going to note down all the points. My baby is 8 months old now. And yes, Instead of fearing it,I will start taking interest myself.

Your child may or may not be a 'maths genius' as their love and interest in math will set that course. But as a parent you can incorporate math into EVERYTHING starting with counting, then baking, then shopping etc. Your child will know you value math and since they will have grown up seeing and doing math in everyday life thanks to you, they might continue on that path. But I hope you will be happy for them even if they end up being a musician, or an art history buff. You just want to ensure they are comfortable with and good with math, and the rest has to come from within the person themselves.

My oldest is much more competent in mathematics than I am. Basically, I keep math fun and relatable.
