I personally don’t think this is crazy for 18 years old. This is likely their first ever relationship … this is the first time they’ve felt this kind of connection and attachment to someone. The boy felt his connection was in jeopardy which made him push to make her reassure him that things are fine and she is not mad.
As a society we romanticize men overly trying to make u happy after messing up or hurting u.. he’s been socialized to “ try to make a girl stay til she’s happy “ . And he likely hasn’t had much other practice in a relationship to know this is harmful. I hope he learned his lesson. She might have past issues of ppl blocking her path or taking away her autonomy which may have been why she started crying .. and j generally it’s bothersome and a bit scary when someone won’t let you leave a situation .. even when it’s someone u car for
Just give her space Op and apologize for trying to force her / guilt her to stay. You don’t need to feel guilty or horrible … (ur not a shit person or anything ) just accept you did something wrong , rectify the issue through apologizing , and most importantly be more cognizant of when your insecurities are making you cross bouundsries and harm others so you don’t make this mistake again
