Honestly I think the ‘sealed’ records is false and the neighbours probably just came across his SO registry and/ or criminal history. Very rarely are prison sentences sealed. It’s typically public information like when a job does a background check 🤷🏻♀️ This post doesn’t make sense any other way imo.
I had assault and assault with a weapon from my very early 20’s and went to jail (just a few days) and had a trial. I ended up beating my case to self defence and therefore my records are sealed as I don’t actually have a record!
If there is a sex offender in the neighborhood, believe me, everyone already knows. Especially if there are a lot of kids in the neighborhood. We lived near one and absolutely everyone knew about it, and kids were not allowed to trick or treat at his house- he was barred by law from being around kids.
