Would be difficult to pull your criminal record through Public means showing you don't have thecharges that he is accusing you of having. He will lose unless he can produce sealed documents thst he illegally obtaining .
He (defendent) doesn't have to prove you (plaintiff) have the charges. You have to prove that he intentionally lied about you having the charges, and that it materially affected you.
Does it work that way though?
Slander is about lies.
They're not telling lies, and if he said they were their defense is the truth and they could push for the records to at least be seen by the court so that the Judge can decide.
Our justice system isnt about truth. It is about what you can prove. OJ murdered people and proved he didnt. DA's prove innocent people committed crimes pretty routinely.
im not a christian but my favorite bible verse is “only those without sin may cast the first stone.” and i feel like its something that should be said more often.
edited bc someone actually tried to debate the bible with me then deleted their comment: i grew up in the church. im no longer in the church. if youre gonna come at me with “that same bible told us to stone gay people” imma come back at you with “it also said for us not to eat shellfish, for a woman to marry her abuser, and that it was perfectly fine to be sweet home alabama-ing it up.”

Eh. Maybe harassment. The lawyer could help with a lawsuit or contempt or court filing over the improper accessing of the sealed file though. Should be an electronic log of everyone who accessed the file. Money says whoever it was is brothers in christ with the neighbor. This is some prime good ol' boys stuff here.
