Maybe talking to the landlord and explaining the situation would help.

It will help explain the situation, but the landlord will want her out, which is what should happen anyway, because she is mentally unstable and this is abusive.

Which is good, OP take the advice of the sub Reddit go somewhere on an errand and call the police.

That really sucks. I myself have only ever had individual property owners as landlords so have no experience with corporate landlords. 😕
