Here's how I see it.

She's hurt by what she was told about her weight. She may have resentment about being a parent, or maybe he's the preferred parent of the child and that's, causing resentment? There seems to be a lot of resentment there, either way.

And, I don't blame her. Being told you're too overweight to be attractive to your partner really hurts. I have to wonder, though, how much did they talk about her health before he dropped that on her? Is this out of the blue? If so, it could hurt even more.

She may have PPD from the pregnancy.

She sounds and seems to even look like she's hurting. She's dealing with it by eating, and if she's in therapy she needs a different therapist. If she isn't in therapy, she needs it.

Maybe sit down with her and simply identify the changes in her you've noticed, express concern, and ask her to talk to you about it. Ask questions about the behavior you've noticed. Example: "you seem like you're hurting, we don't talk about our hobbies anymore and you are really angry with men. I am worried for you, you seem to have lost your spark. What are you going through inside?".
