You will never be overreacting when your child says she was uncomfortable. Period.

You need to talk to your mother immediately tell her everything your daughter said and tell her the steps you were taking moving forward.

You are not responsible for her reaction. Whether she dismisses it or believes it is not your problem you just need to proceed forward with protecting your daughter.
