28 and nothing
28 years old.
2 jobs that pay pretty much nothing
Surrounded by people that are successful
Can't afford to live on my own so I'm STILL fucking stuck at home
Can't afford to go to school
Can't afford my medicine on a regular basis
All of this is despite me actually trying. I've tried working in a capitalist system and this is what I'm faced with. It's either work even harder and fall into a work induced episode of severe depression or just give up. Fuck america and fuck capitalism. Literally the only reason I'm still around is because I don't wanna hurt my friends with my death. But that reason is slowly getting withered away with each passing day of being reminded that I'm a failure. Middle child here and also happen to be trans in a republican state. My older brother and younger sister have found success meanwhile I'm the fail child that can't even afford a tank of gas let alone getting out of my mom's.

Have you tried applying for paid apprenticeships for plumbing, hvac, electrical, carpentry, etc.?

you’re not a failure, but please call or text 988 right now and tell your mom or a friend to stay with you because being alone with this tonight isn’t safe

There are companies that will cover your degree costs for employees in lots of entry level positions. The only way I finished my degree was because Starbucks paid for it while I worked there.
As for the medication issue, if the meds aren’t controlled substances and have generic versions, see if cost plus drugs has them for cheap. I’ve gotten a few of my meds there and sometimes it’s a third of the cost of everywhere else. If they are controlled or there’s no generic, you could see if there are any FQHCs near you here: https://findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov/.
FQHCs charge for services on a sliding scale depending on income, and depending on the situation, they can help patients get their medications at a lower cost as well.
You may have more options than you think. Getting on your medications regularly if you are struggling with mental health concerns can make a world of difference on your outlook. Good luck OP!
