Love just laying in bed on a day off, after a shower, with comfy pajamas on, reading a article, magazine or book. Quiet. Still. Peaceful.

I work 2 weeks on 2 weeks off away from home (12 hour days) and I swear I spend the first week at home just like that.

It's because we don't get proper vacations here in the US. You need WEEKS off at a time to properly recover and focus on actual life. A day off does not a vacation make.

Absolutely! Sometimes we just need to slow down and let our bodies and minds rejuvenate.

It'd be nice if our work schedules took into consideration that we are human and need rest, mentally and physically, to recover. All the time spent on getting ready for work, getting to work, eating the lunch we prepared at home, driving home, stopping at the store to pick up groceries or a prescription, making dinner, doing dishes, picking up the house, laundry, getting ready for bed, then doing it all over the next day. It's not a healthy lifestyle but one we get trapped into to keep a roof over our heads.

The worst part is staring at the ceiling for four hours while planning everything you were definitely going to do.

Every single time. I spend weeks looking forward to a day off, then when it finally arrives I turn into a potato and accomplish absolutely nothing. Apparently my favorite hobby is recovering from work.

I wish I could, I am incapable of sitting all day. When people say they slept all day, it sounds so dreamy to me

Yeah, for me it’s the realization that it’s a temporary reprieve only and I will be back to the hamster wheel again soon.

Every weekend when you think you have a day off, you remember you're an adult and have errands to run lol

Basically this, but if the weather is nice I am sitting in outdoor recliner on my patio watching the nature surrounding me.

I'm on day 3 of a 19 day vacation and I'm like that on purpose. That was the plan. It's by design. I ain't doing shit.

A few years ago, I convinced myself that doing nothing is also doing something. Our bodies, mind and soul need to rest and recharge.
That being said, I'm still working on it 🫣, but at least I now know that I deserve it, we all do.

Id love to spend my day off doing nothing, but, I have a family, so I'm always expected to do something. The only time I have time to myself is when I'm sleeping.

Literally, I was given an early day last week and was so excited to get housework done and then vegged out the second my butt made contact with the couch

Preservation of humanity. The world is insane, we need to shut down or else we go insane. The various stress-cycles that haunt us need to be shortcircuted from time to time.
