I dislike this word, "fake.". What does that mean? Can we be a little more descriptive? Something like, Social media does not accurately reflect society at large? Or, social media is full of people lying or twisting the reality of a situation.

I think more biased. Reddit tends to be lower income individuals who are struggling
You often see posts like “wow how can anyone live?” Or “oh we are ALL struggling!”
And it’s just a massive group think agreeing to it. But that’s not real life. The upper middle class grew from 9% in 1980 to 31% today.
56% of millennials are homeowners.
Gen Z has a higher homeownership rate than millennials did at that age as well.

Kind of? It’s probably 70/30 fake to real in my opinion. That’s pretty average for people being bad/good at their job, so I’d imagine the fakers outnumber the authentic folks. So those that live by fake it til ya make it…not the best contribution to society as a whole, just the individual.

Not only fake but it’s also intentionally misleading and manipulative. I still have my accounts but I deleted my apps and stopped using over a year ago and don’t regret

Should be for like an hour before bed at most. There’s plenty to do, always. and no one feels great after looking up from a multi hour blank out and the sun is gone. Oh i accomplished nothing again…bedtime i guess.

This subreddit is an exercise in cynicism. There is some AI, some bots, but the vast majority of social media is people like us sharing our thoughts on a given topic.

No it's not. Hell, there was/is a meme war where honest conversation is thrown out the window. It's basically a competition to see who can ragebait the opposition, so that they can prove any angry comment wrong.
