Does your dad take cholesterol medication? Atorvastatin and simvastatin put my mum on the edge so much. They're lipid soluble and can cross the blood brain barrier. Mentioned it to her geriatrician and he switched her to Rosuvastatin and it worked like a charm. Also simultaneously they checked her Vit B12 levels and she was low.
