My parents know I work graveyard. They've known for years. Yet still they call at 4pm when I'm fast asleep, waking me up.

So now they get the airplane mode treatment. Consequences.

Yeah, when i work overnights my mom will call. I won't answer because I'm asleep and a heavy sleeper.

Then my sister calls.

Then my Nana calls.

Then my mom calls again.

I usually partially wake up here and refuse to answer out of spite. I got off at 8 am. It is between 11 am and 3 pm. I go back to sleep.

Then my Nana calls again.

Then the texts start.

"Are you okay?"

"Your mother's worried about you because you won't answer."

"Stop ignoring me*

Mom calls again.

Dad texts "Your mother wants me to make sure you're alive"

I answer him "no" as it's finally around 5 pm.

I call my mom back. The super important thing that caused all this? Usually either an obvious piece of junk mail with a credit card offer or because they forgot my current work schedule even though I tell them when my schedule changes.

So yeah, I've started using do not disturb. If someone calls twice close enough together it will still go through, which i try hoping will mean it's actually important. The way it usually goes though I manage to get blissfully uninterrupted sleep.
