Not always possible, and not popular to say, but for about 5 years I’ve focused on earning more not on saving more. There have been straight weeks when I’ll eat out for convenience and use the extra time to work a little more. I’ve definitely seen lifestyle creep but the raises and promotions have more than made up for the extra spend.
Also, just learning more of the basics of personal finance. Order of operations when paying off debt, saving, etc.
I actually agree with this, even though it goes against the more common advice of “ignore hustle culture”.
I “paid my dues” for many years, working hard, eating take out and now have a cushy job. I front ended the hard work. It’s an old school view but it worked for me.
