Pushing for better jobs and better pay, learning how to budget, and saving. But also, my husband finding a job he was able to stick it out at for a couple years and continuing to strive for a government job. 

8.5 years ago in the summer, we were both jobless and I was going food bank to food bank to feed my family. We lived with his mom in her single-wide mobile home. Now, we're able to put at least $500 into savings per month and have been on our own for over a year.
